Understand the difference in currency

One of my team members asked me if we could use what our international team members are making as a "selling point" for recruiting, because they heard of other companies doing this.
I coached that team member to do some research on currency because I knew that they would be surprised at what they would find when compared to the American Dollar.
Needless to say the team member saw how using that method in the long run is not good for recruiting purposes...We need to understand the difference in the value of currency b4 we put it out there... A THINKING person would say ok that is great they got a $150 thousand dollar check but it is in Mexican Pecos not American Dollars
Get an understanding on Pecos, Marks, Real, Pounds, Kunas, Krone, Sheckles, Yen, Rupee etc...It may look like a BIG Money/Check that causes excitement but when translated into American Dollars it winds up being not so large...
Let's become educated about currency b4 we use this as a means of recruiting...just something to make us all think!

One of our sites has businesses in other countries just so customers can order in their own currency without worrying about different currency values. We must also remember it costs much more of some currencies to pay for programs. |
