Whether you are writing a short report or press release or even a full blown story, you need some kind of tool and since the intervention of the internet

Writers all over the world have been able to say a final farewell to those clumsy heavy typewriters

As in the past manual typewriters were the only way to write out any production, but it was hard on your fingertips, plus if you were unsure how a word was spelt you had to use a dictionary

Plus if mistakes were made you either scrunched up the whole page to start all over again or tippexed the mistake out

There are those purests who will doggedly stick to using manual typewriters

It was not until the days of computers with word processors tools such as Windows “Word” were writers able to begin the transition from typewriters to keyboards and later spell checkers

Of course you needed “Word” installed, until now when as long as you have a Hotmail or Gmail account you can make use of “Word” online or Google Docs (also Google drive for storing documents and other items)

For those who prefer a downloadable word processor there is always Open office as a free alternative to “Word” as Open office is a complete set of tools

Other online tools a grammar checking tool “Grammarly”which offer a Free version as well as the upgraded paid version with more features

Which is useful but can be a little annoying when it suggests words that don’t fit in with what you are writing as well as the over zealous punctuation
