Social media growth has been non-stop for the past few years and is almost at the point where it is impossible to imagine the Internet without it.  Here are some of the latest and most impressive social media facts for 2013:

Over 1 in 7 people in the world has a Facebook account.

75% of them use their mobile phones to access the social network.

Over 15% of users are mobile ONLY.

300 million pictures are uploaded to Facebook every day via Instagram (Source: Media Bistro)

1 in 4 customers who complain about products on Facebook or Twitter expect a response within 1 hour (Source: American Express)

The big question for you and I  is how to build Trust on Social Media?

How do you draw from this massive audience and get some people to like you, and maybe, buy from you or join your home business opportunity? 

1. You must use social media  to nurture a relationship first - like getting to know your neighbour

2. You must not try to "hard sell" to a virtual stranger - how can you with so many people  - they will not follow or respect. The odd one might "stick" but then how do they duplicate?

3. It takes patience, time and consistent action to build trust - like getting to know the new person on the block.

4. You must build an online profile with relevant posts to interact with your followers  - this more important than a webpage.  Be creative and original. Share personal stories to show how human you are.

5. You must try and connect with followers and offer words of praise and encouragement.

BOTTOM LINE: Social Media is all about Interactions not Transactions.

The world's greatest networker recently stated: Use ONLINE to connect and OFFLINE to have a conversation. A home business partnership is built on conversations and listening to and caring about  each other.
