Direct Selling, Network Marketing - Benefits, Myths, Problems & Great Equality Factors

Published on 10/9/2013
For additional information  Click Here

Neil Offen, former president of the DSA, dispels several myths regarding network marketing. He discusses the benefits of the model and he negates common criticisms. It is a very powerful and articulate message. If you're in the network marketing space, this article is important. Read it. Share it! http://ow.ly/pEcxI

Especially, share his article with all the naysayers, critics, self-saboteurs, frustrated workers, job-seekers and more.  No need to say another word that hasn't been fully expressed in this outstanding tribute.

Only a summary of main points is presented here:

A. Powerful Benefits

  • empowers people with no discrimination - not limited to finances.
  • offers opportunities to set your own goals, full- or part-time, for career opportunities or  supplemental income
  • drives micro-enterprise development, globally, as a  robust, grassroots source of business skills education, guidance and training;
  • provides consumers with outstanding product warranties and guarantees in each marketplace
  • offers social contacts in a world where people may feel isolated from one another and helps to fill a valuable need of friends, family, neighbors and the public at large

Bottom line, direct selling or network marketing is a source of social and economic stability and opportunity within all its markets.

B. How to dispel these common myths - read full article

Myth No. 1:  Almost all people who participate in direct selling lose money.

DSA research shows that over 80 percent of business-oriented recruits have very modest goals when joining a company and the vast majority … have their expectations met or exceeded. There is protection against financial loss.

Myth No. 2: Self-consumption by sales persons is a problematic practice.

The industry’s standard of the buy-back removes the possibility of inventory loading if the firm is bound by the buy-back and it is properly administered.

Myth No. 3: Multilevel direct sales firms will fail due to geometric progression and turnover rates.

The reality is that a majority join a direct sales firm either after having been a customer or wishing to buy its products at a discounted price.  This percentage of “discount buyers” may approach over 90 percent of the salesforce of some firms and account for over 90 percent of product sales. This can also account for some of the high turn over rates.

.C. Problems that Can Harm Direct Selling Network Marketing Business

1. Misconduct by a Member of the Sales Team

  • Exaggerated earnings claims made to prospects
  • Exaggerated or false product claims;
  • High-pressure recruiting and sales tactics.
  • Excessive non-corporate training/motivational expenses.

2. Company's Business Practices should not motivate or incentivize these problems.

3. Company's Enforcement of Distributor Policies and Code of Ethics

The bottom line is excellently stated:

Our business model not only works, but it is also a good thing for free enterprise, society and individual freedom.

Its success is built on maintaining existing and establishing new personal relationships based on truth and trust.

We want happy customers and satisfied recruits.

We and our sales people want to be good corporate citizens and contribute to society. In other words, we and our sales people want to do well while doing good. Neil Offen

I am proud to be a professional network marketer for all these reasons and more.

If others question this pride, loyalty and vision, they need to read this article:

If you agree, hold your head high and pass it on.

Comments are always appreciated - networkers need to talk more with each other.

Sincerely,

Annemarie
