The Story of Lyus III
"DEMONS"
Night fell, the jungle seemed silent as if all were asleep or too scared to make a sound for fear of recourse from something far greater than death itself. Karma laid asleep at the foot of Lyus, as Lyus himself struggled to keep watch for, even he felt the silence was too good to be so, but he could not deny the mesmerizing peace that came forth of the silent air. Finally his struggle was no more as he drifted off to sleep. LOUD THUNDER CRASHED, awoken by the stampede of every animal running for dear life, Lyus sprung up to be met with Karma gone and a herd of animals coming at him, he quickly took to the trees for refuge against the tide of animals that were trampling over one another to find a way to get away from what? What could strike such mass fear in the most fearsome of creatures the world has come to know? With no answer, Lyus took to the top of the tree for the grand view of what his tribes men had warned would one day come, the day of Rapture, the day the dead overtake the land. As Lyus took full view of the creatures falling from what seemed the sky, he secured himself to the massive tree to conceal himself from the carnage that was taking place, animals were tossed around and torn from their limbs as they could not out run the flying "Demons" that used their talons to grab the animals, rise them up to the sky and then share them with their Flock of hell's spawn.
The Blood filled the air, as the Darkness made it difficult to see the Demons until it was too late. One last questions crossed Lyus's mind, where was Karma, what had come of her, did she take off before the carnage or had she met her fate. Never mind that Lyus, could no longer trouble his mind with the possibilities, only with the actions needed to survive this slaughter that he fell witness to. Just as Lyus was going to use the tree's vines to travel about, a Demon caught him in mid air, as Lyus was taken he removed the tree's limb in attempt to not be taken, this shall be my weapon now, as he Pressed the branch through the Demons chest, allowing for Lyus to break free of the Demon's grasp! Thankfully this was done before the Demon could take for the sky, leaving the Fearless Lyus to a short fall into the river. There he found what was left of the tribe of men that had earlier attacked him. Lyus quickly sought out to find weapons amongst the dead bodies, just in time as 2 Demons landed before him and screamed with a most terrifying call for what Lyus feared was to call for more Demons, or to advise the others that Lyus was his to claim.
Lyus starred down the 2 Demons in an effort to show Courageousness, as the larger of the 2 came forth at him with his razor sharp claws out and ready as if ready to make quick work of Lyus. Just as the Demon took flight towards Lyus, Lyus tackled the Demon right as the Demon was in mid flight, swiftly driving the concealed sword through the Demons abdomen. The second Yelled with disbelief, this call wasn't like the other, this one sounded like he was calling for Help, Lyus quickly recognized the difference and took off towards a narrow cave where he would have the strategic advantage of positioning him to face each Demon 1 at a time. Even for the mighty Lyus, against the slew of Demons that were being summoned by this Demon, his chances of seeing Day light would be without thought.
Suddenly Demons began to fall upon the ground, you could hear the thump and feel the rumble on the ground as the Demons dropped down in response to the Female Demon's call for Help. She quickly pointed in Lyus's direction as the largest of the Demon Clan took flight with a rage, as if with the confidence that he alone could end Lyus. With Sword in hand and faith in thy Father, Lyus took his combat stance, prepared to meet whatever fate would come of this battle, knowing that he would not stand down nor give way to the fear within him which would make a lesser warrior run away. The Demon crashed through the narrow passage, but due to the broad wingspan the Large Demon couldn't make full contact with Lyus, this lead to Lyus's advantage knowing that his strike must be quick and lethal. The Demon roared with Rage and the stones began to rumble down upon the Demon, as if the gods themselves were assisting Lyus stood there in full combat stance waiting for the Demon to make it though so to meet it with the tip of his sword. Finally in Haste the other Demons came behind the Larger one in an attempt to force themselves through, this is all it took for the cave to come down upon the Demons. This served as a gift and a curse, as the air would soon run too thin for Lyus to breath, and if he finds a way out his demise would be certain.
