“Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.” Carl Bard
So, did you wake up this morning with the Monday Blues? Did you dread going back to work? Were you lacking motivation? For those of us who work at home full time, it is different from those who work a j-o-b or even for some who work their home business part time, along with a job.
I remember when I worked for someone else, Monday’s were depressing. With my home business where I am in control of what lies ahead this week, I look upon Monday’s with excitement. What great thing will happen this week? I am fortunate to be with a company I love. So, today I ask myself, “Whose life can I help change?”
Sadly, there are even people who are working at home who are not really enjoying it, for one of two reasons.
1) They simply are not meant to own a home business. Nearly everyone dreams of being their own boss. But in reality, not everyone is self-disciplined or self-motivated enough to do so. OR 2) They have chosen a business that isn’t a good fit for them. There may be nothing wrong with the business. It may be a fabulous company & product, but they simply aren’t well matched. If they (or you) are not passionate about their company, their product or the people they are working with, it is time to start shopping for another home business, preferably with a company in a totally different field.
As they get ready to start a new week, they see the week ahead as something that they have to get through. Each week, they repeat the same mantra, “Let it be Friday.” Those thoughts lead to inaction, boredom, and for some, depression. How can they take action when they are just thinking about making it to the end of the week? The upcoming week seems endless in front of them, because they are “stuck.” For some, it is huge to stop the negativity and DECIDE it is time to change. The minute they decide it is absolutely time to change, they are on their way to happy Monday’s. Does this seem too simple? It is not at all complicated, but it also is not simple. In fact, changing an attitude can be very difficult. The exciting part is that the moment they decide, change will start happening. Once they make the decision, they can start doing something and get motivated and look forward to the great week ahead. Changing how they approach Monday can have a huge impact on their lives.
Each Monday, I look forward to creating new positive results, and yes, even the challenges I may face. We create our own fate, and we can begin anew every single Monday. “The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.” Walt Disney
If you are stuck, start today, start NOW. Decide on a new direction, and get moving!

 | | Hi Julie, I really enjoyed this. I can relate to dreading Mon morning. Yes still have my day JOB. When I have the opportunity to just work at home, I will tell the world. Take care! |
| | | | | | | | | I'm really blessed that my Monday isn't much different than the other days of the week for my business. Each day is exciting because I'm able to help different people and learn something new! Because I'm doing something that I love, it really doesn't feel like work! Great blog Julie! |
| | | | | Great blog post and so very true! So glad you have found something that makes you happy!! |
| | | | | Great feedback from you all.
Hitesh, I think the difference between growing your business slowly and not being a good match is satisfaction. If you're enjoying your business and believe in it, even if it's building slowly, do NOT quit! However, if you have truly put real effort into the business, it is barely growing AND you're unhappy with the company, then it is time to look for something new. |
| | | | | Great blog, I just spoke of this earlier, people complaining about their jobs, but not wanting a change! |
| | | | | thanks Great blog Julie so you are saying not everyone is happy with there home business, the saying is the roads are not paved with gold which is the same for a home business, some are very sucessfull but some are very slow depends on the individual one. |
