 | | You make such a good point about the clutter and the email. When I went back to University to get my Bachelors degrees in my thirties I had to clean my house before I could study. Seems strange to some but it helps me. Thanks for the great post. |

 | | I hate clutter too. I hardly ever use paper any more. I just open a notepad and start typing and file it. I wish I had this Computer 30 years ago. A TL&B for you my friend |

 | | I'm working my way to neatness at my desk a little at a time. At work, I used to be so organized it was difficult to believe I was the same person when I got to my home office. Now that there is only one, I need to do the same thing that you are. I'm just going a little slower at this point. |

 | | Hi Julie thanks for sharing. I always said if we admit our problem or faults that is a good start. Now you are going to help the situation. Good for you. Good luck. |
|
| |
 | | Good for you Julie.. Make a commitment and make it known to others and you will follow through. |

 | | You're definitely not alone. When you're out in the public's eye daily, it's seems as though my "desk" is the last thing I want to do. Believe it or not, I can find most anything under the rubble. But it's more than a task when you're use to keeping a clean and organised work area. The good thing about the clutter is that it makes me look busy. The worst part is that I don't like clutter. Thanks for sharing. |

 | | I've always heard catharsis is good for the soul, you should be feeling pretty good now that you've told the whole world about your cluttered desk LOL don't feel bad, mine would probably make yours look like a poster for neatness. TB&L my friend |

 | | From your comments, it seems I am not alone! Since until recently, I was neat and organized, I think I can maintain it now that it is cleaned up. Thanks everyone for your great feedback. |

 | | I've made a conscious effort to keep my paperwork to a minimum. I keep a spiral notebook with my notes in it and that goes with me where ever I am with my laptop. 2 or 3 other booklets are tucked into the back of the notebook and that's it! Clutter can be so detrimental and with a husband and three kids, I have enough distractions as it is! Congratulations on making the "decluttering" a top priority. |

 | | Woohoo! Since posting this blog, I took a lunch break and then dug in. My desk now has only two small organized stacks. My bulletin boards are neatly aligned, with about 1/4 of the stuff I "needed" now gone. My waste basket is nearly full. My email is CLOSED! The last will be a tough one for me, addict to email that I am.
Thanks for all the great comments! Now, back to organized, productive work! |

 | | Hello Julie. I too find myself checking my email to much. Thanks for reminding me to not check it so much. It is so easy to get distracted from what you are working on at the time. Take care Julie and thank you for writing. |

 | | Julie you were speaking to me, clearing up clutter papers is important. It clutters your thinking, you loose focus it just becomes a mess. Thanks for sharing. |

 | | The Results you can have from Being Organized are way higher if you not!! Wishing you Success |

 | | Great message Julie. I used to get caught with the email but now I plan it. There are only 2 times during the day that I can check it and I am only giving it a certain amount of time (like 15 minutes). That keeps me from thinking about it because it is already planned. Same with other areas. I do get caught sometimes - lol, but I recognize it and get back on track. Thanks for the share my friend |

 | | Good points, I find my email leads me away from my work sometimes too. |
|

 | | Eail is my biggest distraction. Invariably I'll get a link to some site and waste a lot of time in browsing. nice to know someone else batting the problem.
