Analysis Of An Email Tactic

Published on 12/10/2014
For additional information  Click Here

These subject lines were within the emails that I received this morning:

1.     the quickest way to success

2.    Make $50 tomorrow MORNING?

3.    24 hours left and I have to take this down

4.    Money On Demand (live training)

Why am I sharing this with you?  As marketers, many of us are busy send emails in the hopes of securing that ‘sale’ or that ‘subscription’.  These subject lines seemed foolish to me, yet instead of just ‘deleting’ them I took the opportunity to analyze.

To my surprise, they all came from the same source!  Why was this person using such ridiculous subject lines?  Why were they sent so closely to each other?  It was then I realized that each email ‘led’ into the next, culminating with a call to action and ‘final’ chance.  By the time one reached the final email, you would have already been exposed to that person’s name a handful of times and therefore the name might become embedded in your mind; eventually that could even develop into viewing this person as a trusted source … hmmmmm … perhaps crazy like a fox, yes?

My point is this, in order to make the most of your marketing efforts don’t forget to dissect what the top competitors are doing.  What types of ads do they put out there?  What methods of marketing tactics do they use in the emails you receive?  Are they using contextual links and if so, how?  By making full use of your results, perhaps you can incorporate those same methods and enjoy the same types of results!

With so many successful models out there, why would you want to try to ‘re-invent the wheel’?  Would it not make more sense to make use of what works and tweak it to fit your business?  It would certainly save a lot of time and effort!
