Turning A Stumbling Block Into A Stepping Stone

Published on 7/7/2015
For additional information  Click Here

Well, it happened ….again!  I had an affiliate jewelry boutique running for a little over a year now.  It was doing fairly good, too.  Last month, I was having difficulty performing certain updates so I immediately emailed the parent company.

Two weeks later (not exactly ‘prompt’) I received a short email saying they had gone out of business and ‘thank you’.  That was it … no advance notice, NOTHING!  The whole event struck me as being odd; I had been working over a year with them and not one unhappy moment or event.  Support was excellent, product was always delivered promptly, stock was always plentiful … I wondered what had happened, then decided to let it be.

Unfortunately, I had designed and launched a website for this very purpose!  What was I to do?  I am grateful this was not something that happened during my first few months; I would have been devastated and at a complete loss.

From the wonderful articles and support features here at IBO, coupled with the support and training from another networking group I belong to … it became merely a matter of determining how to turn this stumbling block into a stepping stone toward bigger and better opportunities.

At the current time, I am revising the entire website and writing new content.  Because the website was wrapped around the jewelry boutique, I am slightly confined with regard to niche.  Notice that I use the word ‘slightly’?  Thanks to the powers that be, I at least had enough foresight to choose a name that left a few doors open.

Now, with dedication, I am creating an entirely new avenue for even more  opportunities!  Never give up … success is built on lessons learned from failures!
