God Is Powerful In Wisdom!!!

Chapter Nine

Our Father Knows

Our Father knows what our needs are. He knows we need food, protection, a place to live, love, guidance, and many other things. We don’t have to worry about our problems; all we have to do is thank Him for always providing for us.

Bread of Life

When you pray, don’t babble on and on as people of other religions do.They think their prayers are answered only by repeating their words again and again.

Don’t be like them, because your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him!

Matthew 6:7-8 (NLT)

God Was Protecting Me

I never imagined that the first two weeks living in foster care would be relaxing and comfortable for me. I still sometimes thought about running away and going back to the streets, but the longer I stayed, the more I liked it.

When I lived with my mom and was running the streets, I knew that selling drugs was wrong; but that was the only thing I trusted to get the money and the things that I wanted. Being in a foster home had changed my way of thinking a little. For the first time in my life, I trusted something other than selling drugs.

I had everything I needed. Each month the state sent my foster parents around four hundred dollars for each child that was living in their home. This money provided for our clothes, shoes, food, etc. That was more than anyone had ever spent on me at any time. I played video games whenever I wanted and ate whatever I wanted. My three foster brothers and I started hanging together. We played football, basketball, and other sports.

I still missed my sisters and mom, but after a while I was allowed to visit my family. Eventually, my mom got out of jail and my sisters moved back in with her. When my caseworker asked me if I wanted to go back and live with her, I told him “No!” I loved her and my sisters dearly, but I was tired of living life always in need of things.

I just wanted to be a kid and have fun instead of worrying about where my next meal would come from. I was tired of kids making fun about my clothes and shoes. Now, all I had to do was go to school and stay out of trouble and I would be taken great care of. I decided that I wanted to just relax, chill, and be a child. When I first went into foster care I thought it was because of bad luck, but it was actually God giving me peace and providing for me.

The Heavenly Father Knows

The Heavenly Father knows we have troubles and pain in our life, but he makes sure we don’t suffer long and that all hurts are made right.

Healing our cuts, wounds, body, and ripping our doubts apart, not judging us by our actions, but only by our heart.

We were stealing, fighting, killing, and destined to be lost, but for our sin he gave his only Son and paid the highest cost.

Wondering if we’ll make it and not knowing for sure, Doctors said we wouldn’t but God always found the cure.

Living life in poverty and scared of being too poor; but He sends his blessing abundantly and puts them at our door.

A mighty and caring God who gives us only the best, When we were tired and couldn’t sleep he put our souls to rest.

Things we needed and wanted but chances of getting them were slim,

But our Almighty Father knows what our needs are before we can even pray for them.

Poem by Antonio E. Walker

Way of Life

Talk no more so very proudly;

Let no arrogance come from your mouth;

For the Lord is the God of knowledge; and by him actions are weighed.

Samuel 2:3 (NKJV)

Heavenly Father,

I Thank You for blessing me abundantly. You have always blessed me with the things that I needed and given me the things that I wanted. I praise Your works and Your Holy name, Hallelujah. Thank You for being my God because I don’t know where I would be without You. You are very merciful and Your wisdom goes far beyond understanding. Forgive me for not always acknowledging You in my life. Only You deserve my worship and all the glory. Father I love You. In Jesus’ name I pray.
