As very active Social Networking Trainers, IBOToolbox IBOSocial enthuisiasts, and business development coaches, we encourage our followers to consider the disadvantages of hiding while they are social networking. Yes, we understand the concerns about internet security, but remember, you are here largely for the purpose of building your business.
Ask yourself this question: Do you personally avoid doing business with a stranger who does not offer a picture, does not offer a location, does not offer a phone number or other ways to be contacted? It certainly makes us uncomfortable.
You are here on IBOToolbox, IBOSocial and probably other social networks to try to make new contacts and build your business. We personally train on including "permission-based relationship marketing" in your marketing approach because of modern day concerns that unknown people have about a relationship with new people.
As we like to state it, consider doing the things that your mother or father taught you to do! These were good lessons! Say hello, say please, say thank you, ask for permission, offer your personal information first, communicate and answer questions. People will feel much more comfortable with getting to know you, and possibly doing business with you.
Do not hide! If you want to hide, and do less business, you probably should not be on the internet social networking in the first place. We invite you to our Blogspot for additional thoughts and training!

 | | Very good advice. Thank you. I admit to being a little nervous about being so transparent...but fortunately...I have a round-the-clock bodyguard who can see and protect me no matter where I am. :)

| | | | | Roger and Pamela, great topic and well written. When I 1st got on the Internet, I approached it like dipping my toe in the water. Didn't take long to realize that doesn't cut it. I'll see if I can send this off to Twitter land. Karen from KC |

| | | | | Great advice. Thanks for sharing. |
| | | | | Without any intention to offend anyone it reminds me of the full cover dress and veil that some women wear. How can anyone trust someone who covers their face?
Same with a business. |
