In 1973 I was 14 and read a then controversial book called "Winning through Intimidation" written by Robert Ringer
The title was intentionally salacious - the actual message was about the "law of numbers" that every "no" leads you closer to a "yes"...
I felt like the Apostle Paul after the scales were removed from his eyes...
"The tortoise" Robert Ringer was teaching me...
You have to fail to succeed - it's a rule - and every "shot" you take gets you closer to hitting your target so keep taking them...
Ringer went on to write 8 books...so far
My favorite was written in 1979 - "Restoring the American Dream" - it is all about the political - philosophy of Libertarianism...
It profoundly changed my life
Liberty was the foundation of the USA - now sadly we have forgotten the lesson that made America great - rugged self-determination
I'll expound on this in a future series of posts but I want to close with a couple observations and thoughts...

Remember that the Boston Tea Party and the current Tea Party are about standing up to - confronting and rebuking stealing from any one group to benefit any other group. It's about recognizing that Government does very few things as well as free people - individually or banding together

The only problem I have with many of those on the right has to do with tactics and fear mongering more than basic ideals.
