I'm driving lot's of traffic to IBO by using the Toolbox URL shortener and social media.
It's not hard to set up - takes just a few seconds more that a straight post in Twitter or LinkedIn or Facebook.
There are multiple benefits to using the IBO Toolbox. First of all you really want to be cloaking your links of any sort and tracking them at least to the extent that you can tell if anyone is looking at your posts. That's easy to tell with IBO URL - you just look to see how many "hits" you have. Remember when you test the link - and I ALWAYS suggest you do - you do automatically create a single "hit". That's fine - just be aware.
Another benefit of using the IBO URL is the aggregated traffic that all of us "IBO'ers" are contributing to. The more "hits' to Twitter Tweets - Facebook posts - LinkedIn Posts the better for the Search Engine Optimization for IBO. Why that's important to each of us is that our posts in IBO about any specific topic or product or company is just that much more likely to get noticed in the search engines. Here's a quick analogy.
If you are a gnat flying through the air you are probably not likely to get noticed. If you can climb on the back of a dove your chances of getting noticed are better. If you can get into the cargo hold of an Airplane? Now you are "on the radar". That's way simplistic but you get the point.
I use Hootsuite for manage my 50 LinkedIn Groups that I belong to along with 5 Twitter Accounts and my Facebook - MySpace - and flickr accounts.
If you want a free version go to www.ibourl.com/mhi If you want to have a free trial of the much more robust paid version www.ibourl.com/mh8 is my link. Yes I resell their system but at a paid price of $5.95 a month it's one of the best bargains online.
In IBO I don't "show menubar" on posts where I don't think it's appropriate. Think about how that applies to you. But I do use "show menubar" on most posts. It's a simple way to look like an authority on whatever topic you are posting.
I post to my wife's Twitter account - for example - she's a foodie - @LeandraBateman on Twitter - I don't use "show menubar" on her tweets - it just would confuse people. But if she gives me a recipe she wants posted I'll still use the IBO URL tool - just without "show menubar"
In IBO I do use the URL tool for lot's of News articles, how to articles, my personal blog posts on blogger or wordpress. With Hootsuite I can - in an hour - set up 20 to 25 posts for the day. I highly suggest at least 90 minutes between posts. That's a personal prejudice because there are still a lot of folks who have very few followers and if you are posting very frequently you can look like a commercialized pest instead of the welcome guest you want to be.
Look at where I'm at on the IBO traffic leader board. That's the result of doing what I'm doing
