Memorial Day Gratitude

Mrs. Bixby, Boston, Massachusetts:

DEAR MADAM: I have been shown in the files of the War Department a statement of the Adjutant-General of Massachusetts that you are the mother of five sons who have died gloriously on the field of battle. I feel how weak and fruitless must be any words of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering to you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.

Yours very sincerely and respectfully,

Abraham Lincoln

I was watching “Saving Private Ryan” today on TV with my 10 and 13 year old sons and heard that classic quote again.

Memorial Day always reminds me of the many men and women who served in the US Military, although technically Memorial Day is a day of remembering the men and women who died while serving…

My Dad was in the Navy in World War II - was wounded but survived. I still wonder if his suicide 44 years later in 1989 was not related to the war he never talked about and things he saw but never shared…

The American Soldier, Sailor, Marine, Coast Guard and Airmen have kept the world safe from tyranny and oppression and always done what “we the people” of the USA have asked. Sometimes more but never less...

Even if just for a moment this week. Even if you are not an American, remember their sacrifice and consider how different our lives would have been if Adolf Hitler had prevailed, if Saddam Hussein had unleashed the Chemical weapons on New York City that he did on Halabja or if dozens of other despots and desperados hadn’t been stopped by the men and women of the US Armed Services…

If you have some money (of just some frequent flyer miles) that you can donate to very good Veteran causes consider these 3…

Hero Miles

The Hero Miles Program provides round-trip airline tickets to wounded, injured, and ill service members and/or their families who are undergoing treatment at a military or VA medical center

Bugles across America

In 2000, Tom Day made it his mission to have TAPS played by a bugle player at every military funeral across the country. He created Bugles Across America to achieve that goal

Gary Sinise Foundation

Among other services, “Lieutenant Dan”’s organization is providing custom Smart Homes, adapted vehicles, home modifications, wheelchairs and track chairs to America’s most severely wounded heroes & their families

Greatly blessed - Highly favored and eternally grateful

Bill Bateman - (that’s like "BATMAN" with an “E” in the middle I tell people on the phone)

PS - And if you are going to help charities, it helps to have money...

so I recommend - For Network Marketers - Click here for MLM Recruit on Demand  $15 1 time payment for quality leads to build any network business & the training on what to say when you contact people you don’t know yet...

PPS - Dan Kennedy is giving away the best marketing education you can’t pay for in the form of a map - get it - use it - and it’s free if you are going to help someone else - it’s good to have the money to do it with
