With year-round mild temperatures ( between 57- 71 F ). They are situated 907 miles from Lisbon and the European west coast. The islands are so peaceful and clean that the islanders (Azoreans) do not use the words “stress” and “pollution” in their vocabulary.

They are famous for its deep sea fishing, local cheeses, red and white wine production and many varieties of tropical fruit.
The warm Atlantic Ocean Gulf stream produces a temperate maritime climate. most summer days are sunny and pleasant. Frequent rain falls October through April, but showers are brief.
On most islands you can rent a car. There are also bus services that run around the islands, crossing the main villages. However on smaller islands these may have only a few runs per day. Almost every town is on the shore and most have ports.One of the best known sailing ports in the world is Horta, on the Faial Island. There is a large and fully equipped marina that has catered for many famous boats and regattas.
Today the Azores are an important mid-ocean refueling and pit-stop for commercial airlines, cruise ships, international shipping and private yachts.
The Islands have become an increasingly popular tourist destination.
