Today was Parent-Teacher Conference Day
I am not sure what I want to write about. Because today was Parent-Teacher Conference Day, if you have children, I am sure you can understand why I chose to write about it. My afternoon was spent running up and down the halls , between each meeting , so that I could keep to the schedule that was given to me by the School. Wow! can you picture a school full of parents running in the hallways just to get to their next conference? I have 2 children who are as different as night and day. My 7 year old is in 1st. grade loves school, she likes to draw and write stories , and this week she has been using the computer for most of it. She likes math, spelling and is reading at a 4th grade level . Her teacher could go and on about how great she is, but I will not, maybe another blog.
My 13 year old is another story. He is in 7th grade, and chances are good that he will be there for another year unless he does Summer School. I am told that he falls asleep in class, does not paticipate in another class, and in another class all he does is pace back and forth in the classroom. All of his teachers like him and say that he is very smart , but he is failing most of his classes due to uncomplete assignments. When I spoke to my son about sleeping in class, he denied it. I know he does his homework because I see it when he puts it in his backpack, unfortunately he does not pass it in.
I know this is not business related but I am hoping that someone reading this has had some experience with this. Any ideas ?
Thanks for taking the time to read this Maria Brown

 | | Thank you Dennis Thorgesen and Sharon Naraine for your comments~ God Bless |
| | | | | We can easily relate this to business. With the troop of children between the two houses we understand parent teacher conferences too well. With four ADHD children between the two they are often interesting to say the least. In business there are those who will succeed and those who will fail. It all comes down to doing the work. |
| | | | | what a story, that's the blessings I called it when we are parents, but you know it's only for a season. Before you know it things will change. Bless God anyways for your kids. |
| | | | | thanks Julie for your kind words |
| | | | | Thanks for sharing this Maria. Good post.
I'll bet there are lots of people reading this and shaking their heads in agreement! They understand. My kids are grown, but I remember it well! |
