Pay if Forward to Kidz and Give Them Hope For Their Future

In the age of online marketing and even way before online marketing the term "pay it forward" has been tossed around in various circles. The top marketers talk about it and the marketers just getting started are praying for somebody to pay it forward on their behalf.
It was five years ago I was hosting a networking meeting for local business owners in our community and I began to think, "how can we give back to our community in a different way?" As I posed the question to our group, we touched on a lot of ways to do it but none struck my heart like paying it forward to children.
Now the question did come up about how would be as business owners pay it forward to children. I began ponder and I came up with a concept I called "Kidz-n-Biz." The summer of 2008 Kidz-n-Biz was born and I rallied a few business owners to join me instructing the kidz. We had city officials, business owners, our local newspaper's General Manager and just concerned citizens come an share short testimonies with the kidz about how they got started in business and an encouraging word for the kidz to leave our sessions thinking about.

My purpose today is to challenge you as a business owner to pay it forward to a one child or a group of children this summer. Give them encouragement that their future can be much different that the news portrays. Let them know that you care enough to give of your time and talent to pay it forward so they can get a head start in life.
There have been few things I have found as joyful as sharing my knowledge with kidz as I have done for the last 4 summers. I'm so looking forward to this summer as we share hope and instruction with Kidz from all over the country. That's right, the entire country. This year we'll be having online instruction including the parents. Using the video technology and other online communication resources we will reach hundreds of kidz and their parents just to expose them to the possibilities of doing business as a family.
I sure hope you'll take me up on my challenge of reaching out to kidz and their parents this summer and helping them understand the future can be so much better. Let them know the online world is waiting for them. All they have to do is learn, do and teach others what they have learned to do.
