When I started in business and ministry years ago, I found myself like everybody else wanting to learn the best way to do things. I soon learned that many of my peers were in the same predicament. They too were looking to learn how to do things to succeed.
I'm the curious sort and I don't like to wait to get information from people who are slow at delivering. I take it upon myself to find what I'm looking for in the fastest most efficient and profitable way. Finding information to me is like discovering the unknown except you get to do it over and over again and t never gets dull.
I remember how excited I used to get (and still do btw). when I found new information that many of my business and ministry colleagues we not aware of. I would rush to them and just spew it all over them. I soon learned that was not the way to do it. I learned to drip it little by little until they woke up and asked more more of a bigger dose.
Working with people in the ministry and in business during my early years, I tended to connect well with men and women who way more seasoned than I was. They would take the time to give me nuggets and I would put that knowledge to the test right away. It didn't always work and my mentors wouldn't necessarily tell me what I did wrong. They would for the most part let me figure it out on my own. Now they see me today and say you got finally got it while giggling at me.
Today I'm still on a quest to increase my knowledge in a lot of areas. But primarily what I do today is give what I have away. The neat thing about giving away knowledge is it's always replenished with more the more I give away. I always seem to be in the right place the right time when new knowledge comes to me. I guess it's the "preparation meets opportunity deal."
As I close, let me share with you a nugget that I share with folks all over the internet. "Take time to get to know people well enough to determine how you can help them the best." Some people have taken my advice and have gone on to do quite well. When I look around the internet year after year and see the people who have taken my advice, it just blows me away.
Let me give you a heads up about helping others. It might seem like a waste of time and often seems like there's no way you could profit from it. If you play the start and stop game you'll feel that way for a long time. If you start the process of helping others and let it become a way of life, money will follow you and won't stop following you for the rest of your life.
Stay blessed and keep networking with purpose,
Ced Reynolds

| | | | | Hi Ced, I agree with you wholeheartedly. I have never come up short by giving of what has been so freely given to me. Much of the knowledge I have earned by just living. I've been around awhile and God has allowed me to experience much. It's available for the asking. :)
Abundant Blessings,
Rev. Margaret |
