I took a few minutes this morning to really reflect on what it really means to help someone. For such a small word, it has big meanings. One of the life lessons I learned at an early age was to help people. As a young girl in school I would see a new student in my class and I would be sure to go up and talk to them. It made them feel good because they weren’t alone anymore and it made me feel good because I made a new friend. When I would see someone struggling with something, I’d try to help. If I couldn’t do it on my own, I’d go and find others to help. If someone was hurt, I’d either stay with them until help arrived or I’d go and find someone myself.
As a parent, the word “help” takes on an even deeper meaning, as I am now guiding my children through their lives. I can help them up to a point, and then they’ll have to help themselves. What I’m teaching them will follow them throughout their lives as well. As a wife, I know that words can’t always describe the help I provide with my love and support of my husband. He knows that no matter what, I’ll always be there for him.
In business, we are also able to help people. When I chose to work with Xpress Healthcare I did so because I saw how they are able to help people. 50 million Americans are without health coverage. Add to that the millions with coverage that leaves them underinsured or with high deductibles or caps on their coverage. I wanted to be able to help as many individuals and families as possible have access to healthcare that they might have otherwise been unable to afford. I am able to go to businesses that do not provide health benefits to their employees and enable them to provide our plans and give their employees even more than just health coverage.
I am able to help people earn residual income when they decide they’d like to do the same thing that I do. They are able to work from home and provide additional income for their family. I am able to help them by guiding and mentoring them to reach the goals they have set for themselves.
Finally, I am able to help other business owners succeed in their endeavors. As a member of IBOtoolbox I am able to share the words they have written in their blogs, as well as the opportunities they present and the products they carry to my friends and associates via FaceBook, Twitter, LinkedIn and many other sites. The help that I provide, coupled with the help of thousands of other business owners doing the same is monumental. When you have a group of like-minded business owners who are focused on providing a supportive environment for all of us to grow – we are all winners because we are all helping each other succeed.
