10 Simple Productivity Habits That Will Help You Get More Done Everyday

We all have the same amount of hours in the day, yet some people manage to get more done than others.


How is this possible?


Why are they able to get some much more done, while we struggle?


The simple answer is in their habits and how they prioritize what’s important to them.


They also have a greater sense of focus, to hone into only those things that are of importance to what they are trying to achieve.

Here are 10 simple productivity habits that will help you get more done than you previously have – everyday!


1.   1. Record all your good ideas: Keep track of all the ideas and things that come to your mind that you can use later. You can use a simple notebook or journal or other recording devices. I did a press release on this recently titled, “3 Ways To Never Miss An Idea

 

 

2.   2. Prioritize things: Make sure that you have a priority list everyday. Preferably an A, B and C list. For the must do today things, put them on your A list, then the less important things on your B and then C lists.

 

 

3.  3.  Have a simple plan: Planning is important, but don’t have so complex and lengthy plans, that you develop paralysis analysis. Keep them simple and straightforward.

 

 

4.    4.Wake up early every morning: Wake up early every morning. Here’s the reasoning with this one. “The early bird gets the worm” If you wake up say between 5-6am everyday, then by Noon you will be able to achieve more than most people do the whole day.

 

I’ve recently started waking up at 5am and by 8am, I’ve exercised, read, showered, completed one task from my A list and had breakfast.

 

5.   5. Check your email only 2 times a day: Don’t become addicted to your email. I know everyone has them on their smartphone, but resist constantly checking your email. Check it only 2 times a day, the world will still function if you do this. Try it out and  see, you will be amazed.

 

 

6.    6.Eliminate unnecessary activities: Don’t be busy doing unimportant stuff. Only focus on those things that are meaningful. Hint cut out watching all that mindless T.V. Do you know that most American’s watch an average of 30 hours of T.V every week? Just think if you could get back just half or even a quarter of that time.

 

7.    7.Clear your desk or workspace: Get rid of all the clutter from your desk or workspace. That way you’ll be able to focus on current tasks and not have to spend time constantly looking for things.

 

 

8.    8.Automate or delegate: Automate or delegate those recurring tasks that are not worth your time. Think an autoresponder for your emails, such as Aweber, Getresponse but to name a few. Do you have calls that need to be made that you can outsource, or use a predictive dialer for to save time?

 

9.   9. Keep tight deadlines: Make and keep strict deadlines. If you set a task for yourself have a start and finish date and time and stick to it. Allocate and apply your time in a decisive manner.

 

 10.Take a rest day at least one day a week: Take at least one day of for rest, worship or recreation. Think for it as a Sabbath day. Take a day to at least re-charge your batteries and switch of from your daily activities. You’ll be glad that you did.


 

Just try these 10 easy productivity habits and you’ll not only find that you have more time but, better productivity to do those things that mean something to  you.


Start with just one of them and see what a difference it can make. Do all 10 of them and be prepared to be amazed and not only how much more productive you’ll be, but how much time you will recover in your life.
