Whenever you're producing any content online, whether it be a video, written post or a podcast coming up with a good headline is key.

Not only do they need to grab the viewer or listeners attention, then need to convey value.

So here are 8 ways to write headlines that  grab attention and convey value.

1. Ask A Question: You  want to ask an open ended question that gets the reader to stop in their tracks and think about the answer. For example, "Are you writing headlines that convey value and get attention"?  This will force people to read further.

2. Fear of Loss: Losing something can be a big motivator. So for example, "7 costly mistakes that can cost you sales." People will want to read this.

3. Pre Frame Pleasure: People like to enjoy things so taping into perceived pleasure works well. For example "How To Generate All The Sales You Want." Now who wouldn’t want to read that?

4. The Secret: People love secrets so when you promise a secret it’s bound to be intriguing. "Discover the 8 Secret Ways To Writing Headlines That Get Attention." Would you like to know….?

5. Benefits: Once you can show the benefits, they will speak to people who need them. For example, "How To Market Your Practice So That You Never Run Out Of Clients". Don’t you like the sound of that?

6. The need: What are people seeking, what are their needs. Speak to them. For example  "5 Ways To Write Emails That Get Opened and Read". This is something that people would want to read, don’t you think?

7.Paint the Pain: Remind folks of their pain, and what it’s costing them. For example, "6 Fast ways to stop losing customers and start brining in sales today". Oh the pain of losing sales.....

8. Clarity and precision: Make headlines clear and precise. Do don’t make people guess or make them confused. So avoid titles like, "Headlines and You. A complete Guide". What does that mean? But, "8 Ways To Write Headlines That Are Valuable and Get Attention Works". (Hint the title of this press release).

Writing headlines this way will make sure that you can

  • Capture your readers attention so that they will bother to read more

  • Get people to watch or read your content because it speaks to them, and

  • Get more views and reads because of the above 2 points.

Follow these 8 outlines whenever you’re writing headlines and you’ll notice an increase in your views, readership and open rates for whatever content you produce - which will ultimately lead to more sales.
