7 keys To Getting Things Done Even When You Don’t Feel Like It.

How many times have you had to, or meant to, or know you should have done something - but just didnt’ feel up to it?

Maybe you just couldn’t be bothered or you lacked the energy, or whatever other excuse you can come up with.

Oh, and there are many - take your pick.

But imagine for a minute that you could do everything that you know you should be doing even when you don’t feel like it.

How would things be different for you?

What more could you accomplish?

It all comes down to increasing your will power and self discipline.

You also must create some daily habits, which if you do diligently and consistently will give you not only the willpower but the energy and the discipline to follow through.

Let me share with you 7 Keys to getting things done even when you don’t feel like it.

1. Meditation: In case you didn’t know the benefits of meditation, let me spell it out for you.

It has been scientifically proven to help you  and is recommended by top psychologists and mental health experts to help you de-stress.

This is what I use to meditate and it takes just between 10-18 minutes per day.

2. Exercise: With this I’m sure you don’t need me to sing the benefits, but let me just say this. It not only increases our fitness and mental performance, but also improves our sleep quality and mood.

Personally I do a quick minute workout a day, (talk about compressing time) however I do play tennis 2-3 time a week, for at least 2 hours.

3. Accountability: While many people shy away from this word, it is key in keeping one on their toes.

I have a coach and log my activity in a spreadsheet everyday. Otherwise how can I keep score? This is vital and something everyone should do.

4. Decide to commit: Once you decide to commit, don’t look back and burn your bridges.

Let me drop a quote that seals this deal.

“Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence move too”.— William Hutchinson Murray.

5.  Get rid of all distractions: In today’s hi-tech world we have so many things battling for our attention.

Social media, email, smartphones, etc. Focus squarely on the task at hand by removing all temptations and distractions.

There are several apps you can use, although I’m not a fan of them, but do what you have to do in order to remove any and all distractions.

6.Start with the big task first: Have a priority list as opposed to a to do list. and label them A, B, C.

Then make sure to do A first, and then B, and C, then if you’re able to do anything else after that, it will be a bonus. But A is the biggest task and should be done first.

7. Don’t sweat the small stuff: Worrying about what to wear, what to eat, and things that take up necessary time. Keep it simple by either eliminating excesses, or simplifying those decisions so that you don’t even have to think about them.

In conclusion let me just say that once you put these keys into action make them part of your daily habit.

These are some of the keys that the most successful people in the world use and that’s why they are able to perform at peak levels - even when they don’t feel like it.
