Leadership Skills Discovered Reading A Series of Kid's Books
Leadership skills are so important. Not only in business but in everyday life. I have one granddaughter and she is so dear to my heart. She has been reading this series of books called Warrior Cats since she was old enough to read. It is all about Warrior Cats that live in the forest. There are four clans and a leader of each clan. The leadership skills of each Clan Leaders are quite different. They are guided by a Warrior Code and it is interesting how each Clan Leader interrupts the code.
A couple of years ago, she asked me to read the books so she had someone to discuss them with. What I have so admired about the books is are the way the cats adapt to adversity thrown at them. My favorite cat has always been Firestar.
Leadership Skills of Firestar
Firestar was considered an outsider because he was not a clan born cat. He came from one of the surrounding houses. (called TwoLegs Nests) The Warriors called cats that lived in houses Kitty Pets. Firestar always knew he had a bigger destiny than living as a Kitty Pet. The leader of the clan at that time had a vision that Fire would save the clan from adversity that was coming. When she met Firestar, she knew this was the cat that would save them. He learned quickly and took on the duties of a Warrior Cat. He was fiercely loyal and earned the admiration of the other cats. They began to KNOW, LIKE, AND TRUST HIM.
He learned everything he could. Then he TAUGHT it to the young Apprentices to make them strong and confident. Ready for everything it took to live in the forest.
He was compassionate and was cool under pressure. When he became the actual Leader of the clan, he led with wisdom and always thought things through before jumping into battle or anything that would put his cats in harm's way.
I think we could learn a lot from Firestar when building our business.
Can Leadership Skills Be Learned?
Are Leadership Skills something that can be learned? Or is there a clear distinction between a leader and a follower.
When in business you have to be able to duplicate yourself. (Network Marketing) Is there a way to teach the leadership skills needed for your business to grow?
There have not been too many studies on this but an abstract study done seems to point out that with the proper mentoring and coaching it can be learned.
What are your thoughts on this? How would you stack up next to Firestar? What could you learn from him? Leave a comment and let's have some discussion.
Have you heard about GlobalMoneyLine yet? I got in awhile ago and am blown away by how many people I can actually talk to now and I have not done anything with it yet but my place just keeps growing. Jump on board now I do not recommend anything I do not believe in.
