Life seems to have a way of reminding me of the little things and how fortunate that I actually am when I seem to think that I am having it so terrible in life.
We may all struggle, in our own personal way, sometimes with our daily routines. Again, some of us struggle more than others with managing to get through each and everyday. But there are times, at least in my life that out of the blue, I am confronted and reminded that my life isn't as difficult as others may be. This always puts me in my place and awakens me again with renewed strength to help me continue on my journey of making my life better for all the reasons I hold dear to me.
I have a neighbor who literally fights day to day for her life. She is a single mother of four children, does her best to hold a full time job and from what I have learned she has been blessed more times than I can count on two hands on being able to still to be here on earth and able to enjoy her children. She has already died multiple times and been brought back.
Without going into too much, because there is a long list of issues that she has had to overcome, briefly I will say, that she has overcame being born prematurely, basically sent home with her parents to die; been hit and thrown into the air and into a huge boulder by a bus, been shot in the head and has lost some of her vision and has battled various forms of cancer throughout life.
She currently is undergoing surgery to remove her female organs due to the doctors finding them to be cancerous. This is not her first cancer related surgery. Based on her history, it is a life and death matter and at this moment I still don't know what the outcome is.
However, as I have mentioned, I am reminded in my times of feeling low and feeling like the world is beating me up, I somehow get a wake up call that I have it good compared to others.
Life is not fair by no means. But we all must remember that no matter what is going on with our own life, what situations we may be battling, we can always bet that there is someone out there somewhere that has it worse.
For those of us who go from moment to moment worrying about what we are going to do next about the next obstacle in our path, we must all, if we are in a position, to give thanks for our health and what we have in our lives.
None of us know from one moment to the next, when this could actually be our last moment on earth and with the ones we care for. Cherish each and every moment as if it were your last and pray for the others that don't have that option.
