A person who lacks self-confidence may find it difficult to become
successful in their business.
Self-confidence is extremely important in just about every aspect of our
lives.
Having and showing that you are confident in yourself is a quality that many
people look for when deciding whether they want to follow you and the
opportunity that you may be offering them.
If given a choice, would you rather listen to and follow someone who seems
nervous, not knowing what to say or how to say it?
Or would you rather listen to someone who speaks clearly, holds their head
high, answers your questions without stuttering, yet will admit when they do
not know something?
A self-confident person inspires confidence in others.
By gaining the confidence of others, will help insure that you will find success.
Self-confidence can be learned and built on.
How confident do you think you seem to others? Your self-confidence can
show in may ways: your behavior, your body language, how you speak, what you
say, etc.
Some examples of being self-confident:
-- Doing what you believe to be right, even if others mock or criticize you for
it.
-- Be willing to take risks and going the extra mile to achieve better things.
-- Admitting your mistakes, and learning from them.
-- Waiting for others to congratulate you on your accomplishments.
-- Accepting compliments graciously. For example saying, “Thanks, I really
worked hard on that prospectus. I’m pleased you recognized my efforts.”
Some examples of having a low self-confidence:
-- Governing your behavior based on what other people think.
-- Staying in your comfort zone, fearing failure and avoid taking risks.
-- Working hard to cover up mistakes and hoping that you can fix the problem
before anyone notices.
-- Praising your own virtues as often as possible to as many people as
possible.
Low self-confidence can be self-destructive, and it often manifests itself as
negativity.
Self-confident people are generally more positive – they believe in themselves
and their abilities, and they also believe in living life to the fullest.
Setting and achieving certain goals that you wish to achieve in life will help
increase your self-confidence. Also, if you are recieving affirmations and
positive feedback from others, this will help increase your self-confidence.
As long as you have the focus and determination to carry through with those
goals that you have set for yourself, this will keep building the confidence
that you have in yourself.
Look at what you've already achieved:
Whether it was in your business or personal life, put something down and look
back over it from time to time. Enjoy the success you have already had.
Start controlling your mind and your thoughts:
Learn to notice any negative thoughts or self-talk and make a conscious
decision to put a stop to them.
Be true to yourself and commit to any changes you feel you need to be make
to be successful.
You are the only one that can make a change in your life.
It is all up to You if you succeed or not.
Don't expect everything you do to be perfect right from the start. Take it
step by step.
Enjoy each success as it comes. Yet, at the same time, learn from any
mistakes you may make along the way and know that as long as you keep trying
and never give up, you will eventually succeed at what you wish to succeed in.
There’s a lot to be said for the saying “if it doesn’t kill you, it makes you
stronger!”
You need to have faith in yourself and know that no matter what, you must
always know that you are responsible for yourself and your actions.
Believe that you are a good person, and the world will follow.
