So what do you do once you’ve found a networking site?
Step 1- Create an account (they are free)
Step 2 – Create a profile – this is where you tell a little about yourself. You can keep it all biz, or add a personal touch. I like to put pics of the family & a LITTLE personal info.
Make it public…..when you have a “friend” – their friends can also look at your info. Maybe someone will be interested in W.A.H. or benefits. Again, having access to someone else’s “rolodex”
Most also have “communities” or “groups” where you can hang out with people with similar interests, and some have a classified section where you can advertise.
Invite others to be your friend.
Some profile pages have a wall or white board area- advertise specials there!
Start with one or two forums or communities- try one forum based on business and join one where people share your interests. If you like mountain biking, join a forum where there are other mountain bike enthusiasts. If you sew, join a forum with other seamstresses, etc…. Use a signature on the bottom of postings with links to your websites if is allowed. Example:
