Braylon Edwards has donated money from a lawsuit to charity.
The lawsuit was against a Detroit restaurant who made false accusations about his involvement in a bar fight that cost hims a $15 million NFL contract. Braylon refuted his involvement by filing a lawsuit accusing the restaurant of extortion and slander. All involved decided to settle last month. Who knows, history may have played out in a different, had he went to that team, seeing as he was released from the San Fransisco 49ers, the team that did sign him. Braylon is now a free agent and is unemployed. Philanthropy isn’t new to him either.
Braylon and his mother started the Advance 100 program as a way to give back. The way they saw it, they were blessed with Braylon’s football abilities and felt the need to help out others with their good fortune. You know, like the pay it forward movement. Braylon said in a past statement,“I’m supposed to give people a chance like I was given a chance.”
Braylon fulfilled a promise to pay 100 kid’s college education from the Cleveland, Ohio area and he did so right after being released from the San Fransisco 49er’s Braylon was drafted by the Cleveland Browns and he made the promise while playing in Cleveland. I hate to bring up old mess, but he and his mother let Cleveland have it after he left and I in turn went in on him. With all that said, this more than makes up for it.
