You Are Who You Believe You Are

You Are Who You Believe You Are

More accurately you are who you were indoctrinated and conditioned to believe.

In childhood …

  • You were taught how to deal with the vicissitudes in life.
  • You were taught about your worth and what you deserved or didn't deserve.
  • You were taught how to communicate (well or not)
  • You were taught what to be afraid of.
  • You were taught what to expect out of life [for good and for bad] or that you weren't worthy enough.
  • You were taught how to navigate the world and how to gain love and approval from others.
  • You assimilated your parent’s habits, you endorsed their values, and you learned about relationships.

The meaning you make as a result of these experiences lives in your unconscious mind as a collection of beliefs.

These beliefs influence how you see yourself and relate to others, they impact your mental/emotional and physical well-being and they control your perspective on everything.

Beliefs are the single most powerful predictor of how you feel about yourself, others, and the world.

Your beliefs are the foundation you built your life upon.
If your belief foundation has flaws in it, there will be problems in your life.

As an adult, if you find yourself repeating unhealthy habits, re-living traumatic experiences, or recreating unhelpful patterns it’s time to heal the past so you can rebuild a strong, healthy, and conscious foundation for the life you deserve, desire and love.

If you don’t bring healing to the past, it will continue to hijack your life in ways you might not recognize.

Have you ever...

--felt small, lost, lonely, insecure, or anxious?

--overreact and wonder, ‘who was that person?!’

--felt big love and then felt afraid it would turn into big pain?

--felt like a ten-year old running around in a forty-year old body?

--felt like you’re not good enough or don’t deserve good things?

--felt afraid you’d be abandoned or rejected?

--Felt shame when criticized?

--felt uncomfortable saying no because you have to please all the people all the time?

--noticed you were saying the things to your kids your parents said to you {and wish you didn’t}?

--find yourself in the same unpleasant situation, sabotaging yourself, in the same dysfunctional relationship, or struggling with the same pattern?

Yeah, that. It’s a younger version of yourself asking for your attention.

This part of you isn’t out to sabotage the life you love.

It needs to be seen and heard, it needs to feel safe and loved, it wants attention and validation … it’s asking for help to heal.

When you give that part of yourself what it needs, you begin to heal the past.

Healing the past is not about blaming parents - chances are did you needed to accomplish your soul's need for mental/emotional growth. It’s not about wallowing or feeling victimized by the past [in fact, it’s important you don’t]

But, when you allow yourself to shine a light on how the past is influencing or impacting you, you are more able to transform the present and see the path of your desires you deserve.

You become free to live a life you love.
