In life, we all experience different situations that seem to get us down. What gets you down may not get me down and what gets me down may not damper you. But we can agree that we all experience the down moments.
I have learned to use the 'dumps' if you will, to my advantage. Being there allows me to review different aspects in my life to make my life better. Now, let's call those dumps valleys.
When I have in the valley experiences, I use them to look at myself a little closer. My first thought is, God, why am I here? I conclude the dumps are for me to be still and listen to God!
There is no mistaken, that whenever we are down, we can't help but to look up. If you think for a moment, you will realize this is true in so many ways.
Why do we look up? When we look up there is a sense of calmness that covers us because we know God cares. We look up for His guidance and for His direction on the next step we need to take. Looking up gives the assurance that God is still there as He promised in His word; that He will never leave us.
So the next time you seem to be down in the valley, remember that when you look up, God is there to guide you. Sometimes the 'dumps' are there to make us a better person!
