How to Thrive in a World of Uncertainties
In our previous blogs we briefly dwelt on the uncertainties surronding today’s business activity. Such uncertainties stem from the political environment, the persistent level of long term unemployment, the untable state of the financial markets including the banking sector and spreading to stocks, futures and capital markets.
The three year old crisis that has plegded the world economy has uncovered structural weaknesses in the Europen Unions structures at the political levels, their sovereign debt, their banking sectors and credit worthiness of their Governments with negative impact on their public finances
Ireland has not fully recovered from a financial meltdown. Italy is working around the clock to avoid as similar fate. Politicians there have been replaced by technocrats to run the country’s affairs.
A 125 billions dollars package has not been successful in stabilizing the Spanish banks.
The Greeks have been forced to go through two round of elections in short time span of three months if not less. By Monday, the outcome will be known. However it does not appear as a solution will emerge. It is very unlikely that a single parti will win a majority to govern one way (staying in the Eurozone) or the other (renegating the previous financial agreements with the risk of leave the Eurozone).
As a result of such uncertainties, the financial markets have remained highly volatile. Corporations capital expenditures are still very low. Hence unemployment is still at its heights.
What are the consequences for the Independent marketer?
It is actually one of the very positive aspects of current situation of the world economy: Laid off workers that have faced constant unemployment for a long time have to find new ways to earn a living. Independent business ownership is the only alternative.
