The outcome of the Egyptian elections has been made public. It seems that the Muslim brotherhood will lead the country as the President and the largest group in the National Assembly belong to that political party. How the country will evolve from this point forward is everybody’s question. Very difficult issues await the decision makers in this country. Tourism, one important segment of the economy will require that the international community feels secure about the safety in the country and the stability of the political regime.
Egypt has been in the forefront of World History and Economy since the beginning of recorded time. From Prehistory to the 21ST century, in every defining moment of human evolution, Egypt has been involved one way or the Other. Major milestone include the long reign of the Pharaohs, the Greeks’ interest, the Roman invasions, Islam foothold, the French and British conquests, and now the new world stage.
We salute the spirit of the Egyptian people, their resilience, and their ability to always come out stronger from the difficulties they have been facing.
