Between June and November, the Southern Right and Humpback Whales migrate into the coastal waters of the Western Cape, South Africa to calve and nurse their young. An exciting phenomenon. The animals, often only a short distance from the shore provide a fantastic whale watching experience for the intrepid photographer, film maker and enthusiast.

You can choose your Whale Trail to start in Cape Town and extend north to St. Lucia in Kwazulu Natal, South Africa, a distance that covers more than 1600Kms of magnificent whale viewing coastline. The route traverses several famous protected areas, nature reserves, national parks and wild life game reserves, including the Garden Route, Tsitsikamma National Park, scenic viewing locations, sandy white beaches and the superb Wild Coast all compliment our Whale Trail. Staying in a choice of excellent accommodations along the way and each stop over is tailor made to suit you perfectly. Choose from our 7 day to 28 day itinerary, it's entirely up to you.
At least 32 specieis of of whales and dolphins can be found in the waters off South Africa. This route is especially famous for its encounters with the Southern Right Whales, Humpback Whales, Brydes and Killer Whales on their way to Mossel Bay and northwards along the coast.

Can you imagine coming face to face with the largest animal that has ever lived onthis earth? this is all possible when going on our awesome well planned tour and aboard the boat. There is no greater expereince more staisfying than the emotional sight of a mammal of 40 tones, launching its enormous body clear out of the ocean a mere 50 metres from the vessel, tail slapping with a majestic tail of about 5 metres, saluting you against the backdrop of the high sand dunes of the Elephant coast and the coastline off Durban. Often accompanying the whales there are regular sightings of Minky Whales, Dolphins, Sea Turtles, Whale Sharks and many other species of marine life can all b seen and not excluding the bird life around the area all contribute to this magnificent spectacle.
