Professionals such as realtors, insurance agents, etc. can be the best prospects for your business! They already possess the skills and mindset that create success! Here's just a sample of some of the great conversations I've had with professionals. Cold calling can be fun if you have the right attitude. Remember you are looking for the four aces in that deck of cards!
Hi NAME, HOW ARE YOU TODAY? Great! My name is _____ and I'm calling from ___.
I KNOW YOU WEREN'T EXPECTING MY CALL AND I KNOW YOU DON'T KNOW ME BUT I'M expanding my business into your area and I'm looking for sharp motivated people. I just have one quick question for you.
Do you keep your options open for additional income, or... do you have a Plan B in place aside from your current business or would you like an additional paycheck every month or another appropriate question.
If they say no, thank them for their time and move on. If they say yes....
MY ROLE IS A WELL PAID TOUR GUIDE and what I do is guide you through some information (on a DVD, website, at a meeting, webinar – etc.) THEN ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS AND HELP YOU TO MAKE A GOOD DECISION FOR YOURSELF AND THAT'S KEY. IT'S ALL ABOUT YOU AND WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR. WHEN I SHOW YOU THE INFORMATION, PLEASE DON'T HESITATE TO SAY NO IF IT'S NOT A FIT FOR YOU. I VALUE MY TIME AND RESPECT YOURS AND DON'T WANT TO WASTE YOUR TIME OR MINE.
If they question you about your business tell them as little as possible. It's OK to give them a big picture e.g., I teach people how to start their own energy business, or it's about starting your own business in the health and wellness industry. Be cautious NOT to talk too much as sometimes when we are OVER enthusiastic, even though it's sincere, it can turn people off! Never lie as eventually it will hurt you or your prospect and it's just WRONG to lie when people are hoping that YOU could change their future.
If they PUSH for information there are several things to say e.g., this is a show business not a tell business or I could never describe it as well as (the DVD or webinar or video) and I'd hate to say anything that's not exactly right or “Let me ask you a question, what is the most beautiful sight in nature that you've ever seen?” They might say Grand Canyon or the pyramids, etc. You say, OK 'please describe it to me' Most people can't describe it! “Now you'll understand why I can't describe this opportunity!”
SET THE APPOINTMENT: When will you have xx minutes to take a look? I have ____ or ____ available (give them two or three choices).
APPOINTMENT! Be sure to call them EXACTLY when you said you would as you are a professional!
The following questions are designed to give you a feeling as to whether this person is really a good prospect. It will help you determine their level of seriousness, attitude, etc.
NAME, NOW BEFORE I BEGIN, WOULD IT BE OK IF IA ASKED YOU JUST A FEW QUESTIONS TO FIND OUT WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR?
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN (REAL ESTATE e.g.?)
DO YOU ENJOY IT?
SO WOULD YOU BE LOOKING TO SUPPLEMENT OR UTLIMTATELY REPLACE YOUR CURRENT INCOME.
IF THIS BUSINESS IS A FIT FOR YOU WHAT KIND OF MONTHLY INCOME WOULD REALLY EXCITE YOU?
HOW MUCH TIME WOULD YOU HAVE FOR YOUR BUSINESS?
IF IT DOES APPEAL TO YOU WOULD YOU WANT TO GET STARTED RIGHT AWAY?
