Just a Little More

Being unique doesn't mean everything about you or everything you do has to be original. You'll be quite unique simply by being yourself, while emulating the attitudes and actions of those you admire.

When you follow the example set by successful people who have achieved what you'd like to achieve, your ingenuity will surface. Unfortunately, the majority of people are too busy blending in, trying to escape the experience of life unnoticed. They're copying those who happen to be to their left and to their right, rather than the ones ahead of them. Part of your uniqueness is that you're in the minority--there's only one you and you have a distinct purpose that only you can live out in your own special way.

"The greatest thing a man can do is to make the most of
the stuff that has been given him. This is success, and there is
                                                     no other."
                                                                               -Orison Swett Marden

Observe what average people do and commit to doing a little more a little better, and make the most of each moment in doing so. That alone boosts you to above average, helping make you more unique in the scheme of things. As you stay above average, while raising your thinking and behavior, you'll eventually rise up further still. Other achievers will notice and appreciate your efforts. Your respect and credibility will become more evident, even to those who regard you with envy and maybe scorn. They may feel you are a better person than they are, yet not be willing to grow themselves. That's sad. They could join you but, instead, make excuses. Always hold them well in your heart. Know an epiphany or crisis could occur to change their minds, bringing them to their senses.

In the meantime, keep shining. Be a guiding light and you'll be doing the right thing. Continue making your uniqueness stand out as you grow and become more outstanding, raising the bar as you continue.
