Rick Burnett describes a network marketing truth on desire today. That you must just go for your dreams no matter what you have been through.

The story of Edwin C. Barnes is proof that thoughts are things and that you can actually think your way into prosperity. Why? Because if you look at the facts he had nothing, he was basically a bum. He had no money. He had to hop a freight train to New Jersey to see Edison. I’m sure that by the time he got there he was smelling a little ripe. In fact Edison himself stated that he looked like a tramp. He obviously didn't have the fear of criticism like we just studied in the last lesson. He certainly could have been thinking things like what will Edison think about the way I'm dressed? What will he think about the way I look? What will he think about the way I smell? None of those things stood in his way because his desire was so strong. Hill said “Barnes literally thought himself into a partnership with the great Edison! He thought himself into a fortune. He had nothing to start with, except the capacity to KNOW WHAT HE WANTED, AND THE DETERMINATION TO STAND BY THAT DESIRE UNTIL HE REALIZED IT.”

A few other points contributed to his success on top of having the thoughts he had.

Hill said “that when a man really DESIRES a thing so deeply that he is willing to stake his entire future on a single turn of the wheel in order to get it, he is sure to win” and that was the case with Barnes. He was determined to get what he wanted, in fact even after he went to work for Edison Hill says that “He was constantly intensifying his DESIRE to become the business associate of Edison.

He was ready for it

Hill says “when one is truly ready for a thing, it puts in its appearance.”

Barnes was ready for a business association with Edison, moreover, he was DETERMINED TO REMAIN READY UNTIL HE GOT THAT WHICH HE WAS SEEKING.

He was persistent, he waited for his chance until it appeared, he didn’t QUIT, he said “I came here to go into business with Edison, and I’ll accomplish this end if it takes the remainder of my life.” And his chance came with one of Edison’s inventions that his salesmen wanted no part of. When his chance came he took ACTION and the rest is history.

Thank you thank you thank you Linda and Michael Dlouhy for providing this platform and believing in us. Thank you to all the leaders who are always there to lend a helping hand and thank you to all my mastermind family for sharing your thoughts with me.
