The message I want to convey is the power of double reference and the importance of aligning short and long term goals so that sooner or later you will get what is coming to you.
In the process it might be fun to explore the use of double entendre:

That phrase "... sooner or later you will get what is coming to you" is most often heard as a warning that karma will take care of what looks like a bad action going unpunished. Yet it can certainly also apply to those that are doing the right things.
I am reminded of what is usually sited as a Chinese proverb, "... may you live in interesting times!" is something that sounds like a blessing (and could be intended that way) yet the most common understanding of it was as a curse ... similar to "may your wishes be granted".
Okay, how can all this double reference be of any use to us as we are working to build our businesses?
In mapping out your destination it is important to have accurate reference points. For example, if you have ever traveled through the mountains you may have experienced seeing what appeared to be Twin Peaks when in reality one turned out to be much closer to you and the other a much greater distance with size and scale creating an optical allusion from that particular vantage point. In this example you may actually be wanting to reach the more distant location yet you will most likely pass by the other similar appearing peak along the way. If one of your goals is to enjoy the scenery along the path that you are taking then this aspect of double reference will be a joy to you providing both a sooner taste of what can also be expected later.
By intentionally building your business plan to provide you short term results that as they are realized are also moving you ever closer to the bigger long term goals it is possible to put this concept of double reference to work for you.
Do something that can result in immediate beneficial results that is also structured to carry you toward the achievement of your long term vision.
That is the concept of utilizing a quick results program as a way to feed into the bigger picture. Feeder programs are similar to tributaries of a larger river in that they are conveying a similar element in toward the ultimate destination. The additional volume becomes increasing powerful as it is consolidated and becomes a force to be reckoned with as it continues to collect in its journey.
As you are plotting out the path you will follow I hope it just might carry you along in a direction that could allow us to merge toward and combine our forces as we continue toward the accomplishment of our common goals. That way is just might benefit from our efforts BOTH sooner AND later!
