If Beauty Is In The Eyes Of The Beholder... What Do YOU Think About This

If "Beauty Is In The Eyes Of The Beholder" then what do YOU think about this?

The photo above was taken on a dirt road in the Willow City Loop area of the Hill County in Texas.

The bluebonnet is the state flower of Texas.  It is dearly beloved by many and is even the stuff of legend.

Mark Twain's quote invites me to share the Legend Of The Bluebonnet.

Whether seen by the common eye or viewed through the heart and soul, many consider the bluebonnet to be extraordinarily beautiful.

In more modern times Lady Bird Johnson supported The Highway Beautification Act of 1965 and continued her efforts to plant and protect wildflowers which have ultimately transformed the roadsides of Texas highways and byways into a sanctuary of natural beauty each Spring.  Bluebonnets, Indian Paintbrushes, Mexican Hats and other varieties of wildflowers grace the Texas roadsides this time of year.

Hopefully you will enjoy these pictures and some of the background both from folklore as well as very deliberate efforts to allow Texas to be a friendly environment for the wildflowers.

May your corner of the world have its own beautiful vistas.  Please share a link to photos of what you feel would be found to be beautiful in the eyes of the beholders and maybe we can agree that nature has an amazing ability to enchant us and surround us with beauty.  I will look forward to seeing what YOU share.

Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to look through these images of Springtime in Texas.
