kNOw Brainer

The frequently used phrase "no brainer" is not one my favorites, mostly because it makes sense to me to give things the consideration they deserve... so I would suggest putting a "k" in the front and a "w" behind the word "no" and look at the advantages of a "kNOw Brainer"!

If something is so appealing and valuable that virtually anyone would "get it" with little mental effort, it still has to be described sufficiently if people are going to have the chance to grasp the value being offered.

Too many times with the hurry-scurry pace of our modern world we are actually too quick to flip off the switch of our attention span and actually miss out of real opportunities.  This is in part just an aspect of human nature.  Those things we do not relate to or understand tend to get rejected.  And those things that seem familiar or comfortable to us are often compared to other things that we think are similar... which can be another way of rejecting or dismissing something from our conscious thinking processes.

Somehow we want to encourage people to stay engaged long enough to KNOW the value be offered.

One of the best marketers that I have ever worked with, Eric Bechtold, blends in components that allow people to either stay connected or easily reconnect as a means of getting a larger than usual percentage of folks across the finish line.  Eric is a very masterful story teller (presenter) and encourages those in his group to simply invite people to get the information from one of the formats that Eric has constructed.  It might be a live teleconference event or live webinar, it might be a recording of an event, it might be a direct response piece like a postcard that provides a person access to a personalized website.

A great example of how to encourage people to take the "next step" is to allow for the fact that some people are actually only taking what amount to half steps and build a system that allows for participating at whatever pace is most comfortable.

Because the storytelling process can take a while, some people do not initially devote the time to make it through the entire presentation; it seems to me that anything over about 10 minutes in length is going to stretch a lot of attentions spans as we bounce from thing to thing.  If it is really not possible to tell the story in ten minutes then the next best thing is to let people pick up where they were when some distraction pulled them away.  With custom urls like "" and "" Eric has been able to get a larger percentage of folks that ever began to listen to the place where they can go to "" ... all of those tie back to the original website, so click HERE first so that you will be in the database and then visit those supporting site to see the power of a system designed to be a kNOw Brainer!

Oh, it DOES help if your value proposition is so powerful that virtual everyone DOES "get it" too!
 Just an extra gift for you, here is John Donne's

No Man Is An Island poem:

'No Man is an Island'

No man is an island entire of itself; every man
is a piece of the continent, a part of the main;
if a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe
is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as
well as any manner of thy friends or of thine
own were; any man's death diminishes me,
because I am involved in mankind.
And therefore never send to know for whom
the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.

Olde English Version
No man is an Iland, intire of itselfe; every man
is a peece of the Continent, a part of the maine;
if a Clod bee washed away by the Sea, Europe
is the lesse, as well as if a Promontorie were, as
well as if a Manor of thy friends or of thine
owne were; any mans death diminishes me,
because I am involved in Mankinde;
And therefore never send to know for whom
the bell tolls; It tolls for thee.
