I started network marketing a couple of months back. For the most part, I have been able to stay focused and positive about my future. I knew success wouldn't happen overnight. Like most newbies I joined program after program and found myself getting overwhelmed. Some days were harder than others. Some days I would feel so discouraged I felt like i couldn't go on, and I wanted to quit. Luckily, for me quitting is not in my nature.
Now I have found a program that works and I have made my first commission. My dedication and focus is starting to pay off. Now, I am even more excited about choosing network marketing as a career.
Through a few of my upline and downline I have built wonderful relationships that will stand the test of time. One of the main reasons I got into this field, besides the money, was that I wanted to meet people and build relationships. I couldn't have picked a more perfect career path to accomplish that. I was a very isolated person for a long time. I actually thought i didn't like people. However, now I realize that wasn't the issue. The issue was the the type of people I was choosing to be a part of my life. People who didn't support me, including my family.
I craved positive human interaction and made a choice. I let go of my family and so-called friends and made a conscious decision to remind myself every day that I deserved to be surrounded by people that would love me and accept me as I am. Guess what? That's when God started putting wonderful people in my life. However, a couple of people wasn't curbing the desire to meet more. That's when God lead me to IBO! I started meeting great people. I also found myself getting interested in marketing. So, I pursued it. One of the best decisions i have ever made. Now, I am meeting new people on a regular basis, building relationships, and for the first time in my life I feel fulfilled.
Well, that got me thinking. What if I could find another networking community and broaden my horizons even more. That's when God put a couple of very wonderful people in my life who invited me to check out another networking community. So, I did. Now I am building relationships more rapidly, branding my self more quickly, and honestly, having the time of my life.
Network marketing, first and foremost, is about building relationships, not about your business opportunity. There is a time and place to introduce that. It is not upon meeting someone for the first time. The right time is once you've gotten to know someone, determined their likes and interests, learned about their families, and whether or not they are open to the idea of an additional income. Then, you can introduce them to your opportunity.
Marketing is about meeting other peoples' needs, giving them something of value. What could be more valuable than friendship?
