Is Vacation like a job? vacation, planning, relaxation,

Yes, I have vacation on my mind. I just returned from a short vacation with my family. We left on Sunday and returned yesterday the 20th. We go campiing every year at an Amusement park in PA. The kids are now old enough that they can go from one ride to another with confidence. Us old folks (parental units) can relax on a nearby bench and enjoy the fun the kids are having.
It may look easy and carefree; but alot of planning goes into a vacation. Especially if it involves camping. I did pretty well this year, I only forgot two things, a salt shaker and an extra bar of soap. My husband makes a very itemized list for us for go over to make sure we have everything.
Planning ahead is very important. If you don't want to make yourself crazy and do everything at once, it just makes sense. It took us two days to get ready for the trip and will probably take the same amont to put things away. Believe me, there is as much to do at the end of the trip as before.
Do you need a vacation from your vacation? I remember years ago, my friend came back from her vacation and was a wreck the next day at work. I asked her what was wrong. She said she needed a vacation. I said, "Didn't you just go on one?" "Sure, but I am so tired, I should have taken an extra day off," she said. Perhaps if she cut her vacation short a day, she could have had some time to recooperate from her vacation. She would have spent less money on the vacation and could have afforded to take the extra day off. Or maybe she would not have even needed it if she had the extra day.
When you take time to relax, the hard work that goes into it will be appreciated.

 | | Great point! We need to take the time necessary to reward ourselves. Planning ahead is very important. If you don't want to make yourself crazy and do everything at once, it just makes sense.
Boom, Boom, BOOM!!! TRavel Man |
| | | | | Good advice. Sometimes we are just as busy on vacation as we are at work. We don't take the time to relax. I will be going on a cruise July 9 & will try to relax |
| | | | | Good advice. I grew up every summer at a campground. I had so much fun and every weekend we would go and sometimes we would stay for weeks we would have to make sure we had everything. My mom did good but sometimes forgot stuff. I know how the saying goes taking a vacation after vacation. My husband always plans to have an extra day to relax before he goes back to work. |
