Over the last weekend, and associate and I went to an awesome training given by Melaleuca. It was a three hour drive, but it was well worth it. We decided to meet halfway and then drive together to the conference.
We had planned on getting there a little early, and were glad we did. As we arrived at our destination (or what was supposed to be our destination) we could not find the hotel the conference was being ehld at.
My friend was getting a little anxious about this. I informed her that using GPS systems can get you very close to your destination, but it tells you that you are arriving at the destination when in fact you are about a block away. Needless to say, we had to drive around looking for the hotel. On our registration it said that the hotel was part of the Marriot hotel chain. We saw a Marriot Courtyard and decided to go and ask if this was the right location. It wasn't. The right hotel was only a half-mile away. Yeah! We made it and still arrived 15 minutes early.
The conference then started and there were many successful women and men giving funny and inspirational talks. The most memorable was by a man named Jason Fisher. I would say he is a young man and very powerful speaker. He has overcome many difficulties in his life, but he doesn't let that stop him from success.
He tells it like it is. Here are some of the most compelling statements:
Don't live your life with excuses. Start to think about what you can do with your life.
Which person are you the 5% that lead or the 95% that follow?
Change you thoughts so you can be in the 5%.
If I am willing to do for the next 4 years what most people won't do- I will have for the rest of my life- what most people want.
I commit from this point forward to live a life without excuses.
If you believe you can't; you're right If you believe you can; you're right
Failure is a part of growth
You miss 100% of the shots you don't take- Wayne Gretsky
Invest time now for time later, you are worth the time.
Only you control where you are going.
Those were some of the higlights of his speech. In closing, we watched a video of Nick Simmonds, and Olympian athlete who uses Melaleuca products run the qualifying race to get into the Olympics.
Nick started out in the back, and he slowly moved up and won the race. After the race when the reporter asked how it went, He said that he" still had to sharpen some things, and anything can happen." As he was walking on the field after the race he said "Thank you, Melaleuca."
These words have given me encouragement to move my business forward, I hope that they help others as well.

 | | I wish I could have gone with you. Maybe the next one in Cherry Hill. I do like getting lost so I think it would have been an even greater time. I always say that where ever you are not far. You can always find that the road has to take you somewhere. |

| | | | | Thanks Maura, very well said. I really like the Wayne Gretsky quote. Because in life we are all given chances to become better than we are! It's all about making the choice and getting into ACTION! |
