QR Codes are essential to Mobile Marketing

"We Provide Mobile Marketing Solutions For Small Local Businesses"

The legend has it that in 1883, a printer in Cheyenne, Wyoming, was printing up a regular telephone directory when he ran out of white paper. To wait for a shipment to finish the printing meant weeks of revenue would be lost.

He decided to finish the job up with what paper he had on hand, which was yellow paper. With the delivery of those telephone books to the door steps of households of the day, the book spawned a whole new concept of advertising and an entire industry began that we know as the Yellow Pages.

After research showed that black print was the easiest color to read on yellow paper, in 1886; Reuben H. Donnelley created the first official Yellow Pages directory.

For well over a century, Yellow Pages was the directory everyone looked in when they needed to locate a local business. During that period, business marketed mainly two ways, the Yellow Pages and the local newspaper. Later, as they became available, some tossed in direct marketing, coupons, an occasional ad on the local radio station and fewer with TV ads.

Now as the dawn of 2017 begins, the yellow pages are still used today mainly by people 55 years and older, but even the baby boomers are moving to the Smartphone era.

2016 was not a sea of unexpected change

It was the unexpected course of the change that occurred and how fast it happened that surprised everyone.

With the arrival of New Year’s Day today, most of us as business owners, internet marketers and entrepreneurs, realize that with the exception of Social Media and mobile friendly sites, the marketing strategy that was in place just one year ago is no longer a viable source to use  to reach out to the Smartphone user by itself.

Create Your Own QR Codes

I do want to clarify that you still need advertisement, content and SEO to drive traffic to your business. This series is about taking a look at two recommended tools needed to effectively tap into the Smartphone market, QR Codes (Quick Response Codes) and customizable Apps.

Moby affiliates states that “mobile is set to become the main internet advertising medium and will more than double by 2018”

Conclusion, there is no business out there that can afford to continue sitting on the fence when it comes to tapping into the potential market of the Smartphone user.

To be continued …

Don't have a QR Code Scanner on your smartphone yet?

There are many QR code scanners available in the App marketplaces for your particular smartphone. ...But we've put together a list of ones that work well on different smartphone platforms. Access to this information is also listed on the website and takes only seconds. The information will save you time from looking for what you need.
