July? Yes July. You need a good, well thought out, defined marketing plan for your business. Offline or online requires traffic to survive and whomever has the best price usually gets the prize. But, if you have concentrated on gaining customer loyalty, your price, as long as it is reasonable, may not matter. Then it becomes a matter of keeping your customers happy and gaining new to increase your sales.

 

This base of this marketing plan is from SCORE.org. It is a 12 month plan, with marketing ideas for each month of the year. Anything written in light blue is their suggestion. That way you know which ones are mine and I also want to give credit where it is due.

By the way, if you have not checked out SCORE’s website, take a moment and do so. You will find free business advice, a rich library filled with all kinds of resources. There are webinars, blogs, free courses, mentors, templates and business guides. They work hand in hand with the SBA and most volunteer their time. SCORE.org

 

JULY

"Work your social media content calendar- remember that each month  you want to work ahead to plan out content, be timely and relevant, and schedule your posts. July is a great month to focus on middle of summer content and/or offer your fans and followers a hot summer promotion."

July is a good month, if you are working with seniors to sponsor an activity for them. If you are in an area where a 4-H fair is being held, you can have some fun with your marketing plan. Usually I can find an activity that the seniors might enjoy and then I check with the activity director to see if it can be arranged. Sometimes the activity is free and some are not.

One year, at the fair there was a rodeo and the tickets were $5. I paid $4 and the senior paid $1. Or there may be a free event and you could host a picnic.  You should be involved personally in whatever you choose to do.

"Invite a few select clients – mostly A and C listers – to your sponsored event. Connect with each meaningfully when they arrive

Send your monthly newsletter.

Send a reminder out about your referral program. If necessary, up the ante with a special bonus for new clients brought in this month."

Brick and mortar sponsor a car show, if you are online, partner with a brick and mortar to co sponsor a car show

Check with your local churches. Some of them offer their members a business directory and for a very low price, you can list your business.
