There is a whole niche out there that never sees that question.

The reason … they don’t watch TV.  

USA Today states. “  

“Younger viewers are fleeing TV at an accelerated pace.”

“About 40% of homes led by millennials don't subscribe to cable or satellite services.”

The movement towards digital with this group should not be a surprise to any of us marketing to them.  They have been on the edge of new technology since they were born and they don’t want anything less than the latest in digital. “Millennials, officially ages 22 to 37 in 2018, are over 75 million strong.”  Being “nearly a quarter of the total U.S. population, 30 percent of the voting age population, and almost two-fifths of the working age population.  (Pew Research)

For the four weeks ending Oct. 28, 2018, coinciding with the start of the official TV season, the number of people ages 18 to 34 using TV has plunged 15% and is down 36% from 2014. With new Nielsen data showing a widening gap in viewing behavior among young and old that's alarming some network executives.” (USA Today)  

“With two-thirds of all TV homes in the USA now subscribed to Netflix, Amazon and/or Hulu. "Many networks are going to be under stress to adapt, and some are not going to make it," predicts Kevin Reilly, president of TNT and TBS. "I think it's going to be a very tumultuous time with the fraying of the audience" as fewer viewers translate to lower ad revenue, the lifeblood of the traditional TV business.” (USA Today)
