We as Americans have been taught that we have the righ to Freedom of speech. But does that mean we are to always say whatever comes to mind. Are we to take caution in what we say to and about others. Do we have the right to gossip and talk about foolish things, that onlt makes our IQ seem all the more smaller. Well apon my reading today I cam across this....

Does God's word really mean what it says? Does Titus 3:2 really mean we shouldn't speak evil of anyone? First Peter 2:1 says we should lay aside all evil speaking. According to this it is sin to speak evil of someone.
In Ephesians 5:3-4 we should not indulge in foolish talking or jesting. Ephesians 4:29 says that no corrupt communication should proceed out of our mouths. We all do it,that little secret about our neighbor we saw. Or something someone did on our job. The word corrupt means to be spoiled or contaminated. If we are involved in corrupt or foolish talking or jesting,it may cause someone to go astray. You may say"Wow that's a lot of responsibility to have." But just think many people are watching you and if your claiming to be living a Christ filled life and all thw while your talking about others and ingageing in the foolishness of the world; that person that was watching you and thinking they just might go and get saved because they want to have what you have. Well now you just turned them off and their thinking,"are all christians that way say one thing and then do another"? That's a soul lost for the kingdom.
Titus 2:8 advises us to have sound sppech that cannot be comdemned.

Consider these four questions before you say anything about someone else:

1. Is it true?
2. Is it fair to all concerned?
3. Will it build good will and a better friendship?
4. Will it benefit all concerned?

We all have big responsibility not only to keep ourselves on the narrow road, but to see that others are also doing what is pleasing to God. According to 1 Thessalonians 5:14-15,we should warn them that are unruly. Our manner of speech can reveal an unruly heart. We have to be mindful of what comes out of our mouths. It also says we are not to retaliate against others. Do we use our tongues to hurt others? Or do we use our tongues to uplift and encourage others? Do we use our tongues as tools or weapons? We have to decide.
We do have control over our tongues by the power and grace of God.

~As always,you are my Life's Passion~
