Welcome to IBO Toolbox. You have completed your Profile and may have already set up your Banner Ad on your IBO Social page. Now you are considering your first press release and what to write. Maybe we should consider Why we write our press releases first. 



Our press releases are our primary communication to the World Wide Web. Whether you are offering a specific product, working to develop interest in your website or promoting a business, you are attempting to draw the attention of the world. Your PR is displayed on your IBOsocial profile; submitted to the Search Engines; and pushed to the IBO Wall, HomebizBlogs, Networked Blogs, Facebook, Twitter and IBO Social. 


This first press release is your initial presentation; an introduction, if you will. I recommend that it be mostly about you, your past, your dreams and goals, and a brief introduction to your product, service or site. It is the beginning of your branding process on IBO Toolbox.


You may be more comfortable doing a video and that is probably an excellent Idea. But many people will take a moment to check out your press release when they are unwilling to spend the time required to watch a video. You are allowed to publish two PRs per day and they earn you 20 Advertising Credits each. *NB: Original PRs that qualify as IBO Authentic Content are worth a 100 Advertising Credit Bonus.*


Prewrite your Press Release before posting. To avoid problems and conflicts with the PR Editor, it is recommended that you write your press release in Notepad or some other plain text editor. 


I prefer to write mine in Word for the Spelling and Grammar checking benefits. I don't always agree but at least I have something checking me. Currently, I transfer my prewritten content to a notepad .txt file before pasting it into the IBO Toolbox Editor. Alternatively you can paste it directly and let the Editor Tool strip the extra Word formatting from it. Be sure to Preview it using the “preview” mode before posting. See the buttons at the bottom of the editing frame.


Using Word or some other Spell Checking/Grammar Checking system can help you avoid silly errors and ultimately help you become a better writer.


Hypertext links in the body of your press release may need to be completed in the “design” mode of the editor. Select the Anchor or Link text and Click the “Insert Link” Icon on the top bar of the editor. Fill in the necessary information in the form. Verify your links in the “preview” mode.


When preparing to write a new press release, I use a Prepared Form to remind me of what I will need to complete the PR. Something like this will make it easier when Posting your PR and easier to keep track of your published PRs.


Prepared Form for work header:
Link:                       (For the IBO Social Page Link after the PR is published.)
Date:                      (The Date of the publication of my Press Release.)
CopyScape Authentication: (I like to make a note.)
Press Release Title: (First Line of the PR Editor. The Title of my PR.)
Your Website Link:  (Second Line of the PR Editor. A Web Link without the Hypertext Prefix.)
Keywords:              (Third Line of the PR Editor. Selected Keywords separated by commas.)
Xref:                       (Link and ToolTip for live links in the PR Body.)
PR Content:           (The Body of my Press Release.)


About Keywords; either do a proper Keyword Search to target the page and search phrases for your PR or write your Press Release and choose the relevant keywords from the body. It is recommended that you establish your Base Keywords. I include the word Nove-Noga in every Keyword list.


Now that you have written your First Press Release and completed the Spelling and Grammar Checks; selected your Keywords; chosen your Title; and verified your Web Links; you are ready to Publish your PR with the Press Release Tool.


Step-by-step: 
1) Scroll up to the top of the IBO Toolbox page. Under SITE NAVIGATION, IBO APPS Select [PR TOOL] 
2) Click [CREATE PRESS RELEASE or Scroll down to the Content Editor. 
3) Copy your Prepared Press Release to the Appropriate lines of the PR Editor form.


Notes: 
For "Press Release Title" Make it catchy and relevant. 
For "Your Web Link" enter your target website. (Do Not include Hypertext Prefix.) 
For "Keywords" Enter a few words from your Title and PR content. 
For "PR Content" Copy your prepared PR. 

The default selection for Font-Color and Size results in this small gray text.

My first step after pasting content into the Content Editor is to select the same content and set the Font-Color to Black and the Font-Size to 14pt.
For similar reasons, I always select my Link Text and set it to Dark Blue and Bold.



4) Select Content type and acknowledge the IBO RULES CHECK. Then Click [PUBLISH].
5) Go to your IBO Social page and Select your New Press Release.
6) Read your PR checking for errors and structure.
7) Rule One: Always Check Your Links.
8) For any necessary changes, Return to the PR Editor and Scroll down to your “MY PRESS RELEASES”. Then click the Paper and Pencil icon [Edit Press Release]. Scroll up to the PR Editor area and apply your changes. To finish, click the [Update Press Release] button on the right side of the page.

IBO Toolbox is a place for Independent Business Owners to promote their businesses. The way that we do it is by publishing Press Releases. Each Press Release gets a trip down the IBO Wall. You can bump it back occasionally yourself by posting Wall Comments or PR comments. 


But the best way is to gain the cooperation of your fellow IBO Members and Associates. You do that by establishing a relationship and building IBO Spirit. You start this process by First writing your press release so that people have a place to leave their comments, thus promoting your PR and your opportunity. Next, find as many interesting PR’s as you can and Read and Comment on each. 


If you want to maximize your credit earning potential, be sure to set up your advertising and make three Wall Comments before starting out on your round of PR Comments. Note: you will not earn Comment Credits until you have Five User Level Stars. After your first three comments, visit the Dashboard and check your status. It can take a few minutes to update.


In closing, Write a First Press Release to Introduce yourself. Then spend the day Reading and Commenting on PRs. See what happens.
