Nove-Noga on the New IBO PR Tool

Updated 6/4/13:

The PRESS RELEASE link is now in SITE NAVIGATION. It will take you to a single page input form. Nice work by IBO.

Day 2 of IBO Toolbox V2.0 and the dust is beginning to settle. Some people don’t respond well to change. I can understand this. I am frequently one of them. However, we may as well make the most of what we have and I am here to tell you that we have some great new tools.

The IBO PR publishing tool is what you will be using to post your new press release. It has gotten a little more complicated but, by the same token, it has a great deal more options.

Like the previous PR Editor, you are well advised to have your Press Release prepared in advance. It is still recommended that you use a text editor but they have provided functionality for Word users that removes the extraneous information from your post.

As it does so, it also removes the page breaks between your paragraphs, so that you will want to add them back in during your post. There may be another way to deal with this, please feel free to add information and advice in your comments.

As part of your preparation, I advise that you set up a form in your computer that will correspond to this new posting process.

Press Release Title: (Your Chosen title)

Your Website Link: (Without Prefix. EG: www.Nove-Noga.com/)

Keywords: (It is suggested that you confine yourself to three keyword strings.)

Press Release: (The Prepared Body of your Press Release)

As part of the new process, your content will be submitted to CopyScape for original content confirmation. *NB: Some people have experienced problems during the process that causes a crash and have had to resubmit the PR. These PRs are no longer recognized as Original. It is hoped that a fix will be emplaced. I suspect the problem is caused by a timeout error. You will want to post your PR as smoothly and quickly as you can.*

For content which is imported from other sources, the PR Wizard will request the site address of the original content. You might want to add that to your form setup.

Source Address: (The original site for the content you are posting.)

Now that you are prepared, you can proceed to the posting of your press release. The following instructions use the system that I have been using for GIMP Instructions. The Click by Click instructions are indicated by the “#)” symbols.

In IBO Toolbox, from SITE NAVIGATION, select PRESS RELEASE.

#) {SITE NAVIGATION}[PRESS RELEASE]

Scroll Down to the PRESS RELEASE EDITOR

Fill in the Boxes for:

Press Release Title: (Your Chosen title)

Your Website Link: (EG: www.Nove-Noga.com/)

Keywords: (It is suggested that you confine yourself to three keyword strings.)

Content Editor:

*NB: Font size Controls etc.*

(Control V to paste your prepared press release.)

I use Microsoft Word. The system wants to clean the code. A good idea.

#){The page at www.ibotoolbox...}

Do you want to clean the code before pasting from Word?

[OK] [Cancel]

SELECT the body of your PR. Choose your Font Size from the DropDown box. I am not sure what the default is but I did not like it. This Font is set to 12px.
#) v>[12px]

While your text may appear as it was formatted by Word, there are some invisible changes. To Avoid blocks of text that are difficult to read, add an extra line wherever you want a paragraph break. *NB: If anyone knows a different way to do this I Really Want to Know. Nove-Noga!*

Remember to set any links. There are several options here. Select the Link Text and Click the Links Icon to open {Link} Dialog. Paste the target URL as indicated. I suggest changing the Target: dropdown box to [New window] as I prefer that option. Make it easy to keep our window open and rack up time for the watchers. Include a Tooltip: to display on mouseover of your Link. Naturally for my Nove-Noga Link, I like to use “Nothing Ventured – Nothing Gained. Nove-Noga!” There are some other options but we will leave that for another Press Release. When you have your Link set as desired, Click [OK]. Otherwise, Click [Cancel].

#) Select (Link Text) [Link]

#) {Link} URL (Target URL)

#) Target: v>[New window]

#) Color: [0000ff]

#) Tooltip: (Text to display on Mouseover)

#) [OK]

Another Option that we have, amongst the many offered by this tool, is the Underline tool. As the New IBO Toolbox is making more use of [Buttons] and Underlined Links, I will be using it where indicated to provide clearer information.

Now we can use some of the editing tools previously denied to us. Feel free to experiment but remember that time may be an issue for Original Content to qualify as Authentic IBO.

Apply Editing tools and Link Content.

After a bit of trial and error, I came to the following conclusions.

1) You want to get this right the first time. Each time you edit it, the PR Editor does strange things.

2) I Like my Font at 12 or 13

3) I use Microsoft Word. This editor strips away the extraneous characters. Click [OK].

4) After you have set the Font, Set any of your Links. *NB: You can get a little creative here including the addition of (subtitles).

5) Add an extra line between each paragraph.

6) Be prepared for the exit questions. If you are using Copied material, they would like a source reference.

When you are pleased with your efforts, Scroll down to continue to the final stage.

In the third step of the PR Wizard, you will be required to indicate whether you are posting original content which will qualify as Authentic or content copied from another source. For copied content, they request or require a link to that content. I am not sure on this one yet as I tend to produce original content. You will complete the process by assuring IBO Toolbox that the content contains no negative posting and pertains only to you and your business; does contain info that promotes your business; and finally does not contain profanity or adult material.

IBO Authentic Content:

[x] Content is Authentic or [ ] Content was copied

Enter Link to source content for Content that was copied.

#) Link to original content: (Original Content Address)

IBO RULES CHECK:

#) [x] I assure that this PR does not contain negativity towards any member, opportunity, or product.

#) [x] I assure that this PR does not contain profanity or adult material.

When prepared, Click [PUBLISH] to have your content checked by CopyScape and published to your IBOsocial Profile and associated sites.

#) [PUBLISH]

*NB: Be Patient. This may take a few minutes. Remember, it is going to check for other material with same content. Your repeated posts will not be accepted as Authentic Original. *

As you may know, I tend to get very detailed in my instructions for those like myself, who prefer to know what they are getting into. You might want to keep it simple the first new post and simply check out the system. Soon we will forget that we every used anything different. PS: Check out the New Blue Nove-Noga Link.
