Nove-Noga.com/GetStarted.htmlYour Introductory Press Release:

Note: This is the 18th in the “GetStarted” Sequence.

Your Introductory Press Release (PR) should be your first Press Release at IBO Toolbox. If you started out in “Sell” mode, you should take the time to Introduce yourself to us. As we have been told time and again, “People tend to do business with those they Know, Like and Trust.” (Kris Karafotas on the IBO Webinar) Give us the chance to get to know you.

Most likely, your intentions are to participate in Internet Marketing or you wouldn’t be here. Maybe you have no intentions of selling. Perhaps you are here to learn how to build up support for your cause, church, or organization by using the Internet and Social Media. The truth is that that all falls under the heading of Internet Marketing.

One of the first steps in the process of Internet Marketing is selling yourself. You are building your personal brand. You want to be Identified as a person with information of value. IBO Toolbox is one of the best places I know to start that process.

Many of you are coming from backgrounds of experience. You may feel that you are an expert in your field and that it is your duty to share with us what you know. (It is.)

Consider your Audience:
This is not Facebook where most of your Audience may have little or no clue about what you are doing. This is IBO Toolbox, by marketers, for marketers. While many of those you are writing to are new to Internet Marketing, especially those reading from the outside, many of the members at IBO Toolbox can measure their experience in years and decades.

Don’t bother to baffle us with bull. Don’t act superior. Even if you have the experience, chances are that there is much you can learn here. *NB: Show me someone with nothing left to learn and I will show you somebody ready to be buried.*

Begin Your Introductory Press Release:
In your Introductory Press Release, you should give us the chance to get to know you. Tell us how you got where you are. How did you find IBO Toolbox and do you love it as much as we do? Share your Why with us. Do you have a dream? You begin to get the Idea.

Use short paragraphs with a space between each. The minimum length of your Press Release is reported at 250 words. (I wouldn’t know. My problem is keeping them short enough.) The recommended length is 600 to 1000 words with no more than two links.

Your Introductory Press Release is for people to get to know who you really are. Transparency builds Trust. You don’t need to spill. But you want to become real to your readers. Finally, in the closing, gently introduce us to your opportunity or the focus of your efforts at IBO Toolbox. (If you are not focused yet, don’t sweat it.)

You should always prepare your Press Release on your own system. I strongly recommend a word processor that includes spell check. You never know when you will need it. (I had to fight with mine to spell never wrong.) Your Presentation is an important part of building your Brand Identity.

As you are writing your Press Release, consider your Title. If you have great Keyword skills or tools, perhaps you have already researched your Keywords and your title. If not, don’t worry about it too much at the moment. Except for this; one of your Keyword Strings (long-tailed keywords) should be included in your title and repeated appropriately in your Press Release.

*Note: Keyword selection is a complex issue that we will cover in more detail later in the “Where do You Start?” series.*

The Simple Approach to Keyword Selection:
Despite the term, a “Keyword” is usually more than a single word. Sometimes referred to as “long-tailed keywords”, keywords or keyword strings are usually a few words long. (*Note: A “few” is three or more and less than a dozen. n-n*) After you have written your Press Release, choose a few Keyword Strings from what you have written.

After you have chosen your Keywords, you may want to adjust your Press Release. It is no longer acceptable to overuse your keywords. Try for natural usage. Look for keywords in your Title, Headings and the focus of your Press Release. In addition, you will want your Press Release Keywords to support your primary focus. Notice that the word “Nove-Noga” is in every Press Release I issue.

Prepare For Each Clickable Link:
URL: (the Target. EG: http://www.Nove-Noga.com )
Link Text: (The link words in your content.)
Tooltip: (Something to display on mouseover.)

Prepare For Each Image:
Image URL: (Image must be hosted on the Internet. Consider ImgBox.com if necessary.)
Long Description: (Optional)
Alt Text: (Required – what to show if the image doesn’t work.)
Width: (Required – dimension in Pixels. Max =514)
Height: (Required – dimension in Pixels.)

*-*-*-*-*
The Press Release Process:

Prepare Your Press Release:
Press Release Title: (The Title you have chosen.)
Your Website Link: (What page do you want to link your PR to?)
Keywords: (Separate keyword strings with commas.)
Content Editor: (Your Press Release. Minimum 250 Words)

Simple PR Post:
In SITE NAVIGATION select IBO TOOLBOX APPS – PRESS RELEASE.
Click [CREATE PRESS RELEASE]
Paste or Enter – Press Release Title, Your Website Link, and Keywords.
*Paste your prepared Press Release in the {Content Editor}.
Set up Links and Add Images (Please include image width and size.)
Select Content Type and Acknowledge compliance with the IBO Rules.
Click [PUBLISH]
Wait for completion of process. Click [CONTINUE]
Go to your new PR and Verify your Links.

*Note: If the Content Editor has trouble with your Prepared Text, copy it to a .txt file (notepad). Then copy from the .txt and paste to the Content Editor.*

Clickable Links:
To make Clickable Links in your Press Release in Design Mode, you will need to use the InsertLink tool [the World and Link Icon] in the Content Editor. You will Select the Link Text in your Content, Click the Icon, Enter the URL, perhaps Enter the Tooltip and Click [OK]. (Alternatively, you can insert the link code in HTML mode.)

To Insert an Image:
In Design Mode, Click the point in the body of your Content where you want the Image to appear. (If you wanted the Image to appear to the right of a paragraph, click the beginning of the line. The editor will take care of the rest.) Click the InsertImage tool [Mountain and Sun Icon], Enter the Image URL, the Alt Text, the Width, the Height, perhaps the long description, choose the Alignment and Click [OK]. (Alternatively, you can insert the image code in HTML mode. For Clickable Images, I believe that you must insert the code.)

My IBO PR Process by Nove-Noga.
*-*-*-*-*

The first step, after you have posted your Press Release is to go to it and make sure everything is the way you want. Remember the basic rules. Always Proofread your work again after posting and Always Check Your Links. (Every time I don’t, I regret it.n-n)

*Note: The Content Editor does some strange things in [EDIT PRESS RELEASE]. I recommend saving a copy of the HTML for each Press Release in a .txt file. It makes it much easier to edit.* **NB: Always save copies of your work.**

If you are not sure how to find your Press Release, there are a couple of ways. 1) Go to the DASHBOARD, on the IBO WALL set the wall filter to [Me only]. That will show your most recent wall activity. 2) On the DASHBOARD, look to the right side, scroll down to MY IBOSOCIAL PROFILE. Above the visitor stats is a link to your IBOsocial Profile. Click it and add it to your Favorites/Bookmarks next to your IBO Login. On the header select [PRS].

If you are following this PR Sequence, your IBOsocial Profile is in good shape and you have just posted your Introductory Press Release. You may be wondering where the traffic is that you were promised. Just like everywhere else on the Internet, your traffic is dependent upon your engagement.

One step is to share your new post with all of your Social Networks. I like to wait until I have a few comments first. To get those comments, engage with your Associates. I would appreciate it if you came to this post and let us know of your success. I always try to followback any comment I receive. Or simply post a relevant comment on my most recent PR.

Those commenting on this PR are also good candidates likely to followback and comment on your post. Remember, by commenting on your post, we are tacitly supporting your efforts. If you are engaging but not receiving comments, perhaps the problem is in your content. (I always try to comment back. Occasionally, I cannot support what I am reading. Sorry. You can’t please everyone all the time.)

*Note: IBO Toolbox is a Safehaven for Independent Business Owners. Negative comments and posts are not permitted. If you can’t say something good, say nothing at all.*

It may take time for people to return your comments. Don’t sweat it. Just keep looking for new Associates to Comment on until you begin to build a rhythm. Every time there is a new comment, your post will travel the wall again. When you receive comments, you should acknowledge them on your post before Clicking their Name to follow them back to their Profile.

To Recap:
Your Introductory Press Release is an excellent opportunity for us to get to know you. The Impression you create will be the basis of relationships that may last for years. Engagement with your IBO Associates through PR Comments and Comments on Wall Posts helps to boost their efforts. In return, most will help you to boost your efforts. When we work together our messages travel around the world. Nove-Noga!
