Add your Business to your Email Signature:

FavIcon your Business to your Email Signature:
So, you have found your Great Opportunity. You have created your shortened links. And now you are ready for the next step; Tell everyone you know about your Great Opportunity. Hmmm. First of all, emailing your so called “warm market” right in the beginning is a good way to alienate family and drive away friends.

It used to be considered a good tactic but in the era of Relationship Marketing we have learned that “Selling” people is not the way to go. You don’t want to hide your efforts. Internet Marketing and Network Marketing are nothing to be ashamed of as long as you are with an honest company and conduct your business in an honorable and ethical manner. But you also don’t want to overload your friends and family with your new business venture.

The laws about SPAM and Unsolicited Emails are something that you had better familiarize yourself with before you start sending out a lot of messages about your Great Opportunity.

An Unsubscribe Link:
One thing is clear. If you send any sort of business message, you need to have a way for the recipient to opt-out of receiving further emails. If you are using an autoresponder, most of them have an “unsubscribe” link. If you have such a link, it Must Be Active. Don’t make something that looks like a link and hope for the best. First, it’s wrong. Second, too many SPAM reports and you can lose your account.

An Opt-Out Alternative:
If you are sending messages from your personal account, the chances are that you don’t have any way to set up an “unsubscribe” link. In that case, you need to include a clear message on how to stop receiving emails from you. Something like the message below should be acceptable.

An Unsubscribe Message:
If you no longer wish to receive communications from me,
Please Reply with ‘Unsubscribe’ in the Subject.

A Note on Transparency:
Everything you do on the Internet Will Be Seen. We, as Internet Marketers, need to stand up for what is right in our business. I believe that the only way that we can save this planet is by starting in our own little corners, making it just a little better every day.

Getting the Word Out:
So the question is how do we get the word out if we are not going to Email our friends and family about our Great Opportunity? The answer is adding your business to your email signature.

What is the Email Signature:
Most of the public Email accounts have a way of adding an Email “Signature” to the end of every outgoing email. Below you will find instructions for adding your Email “Signature” to Gmail, Hotmail and Yahoo accounts. With the exception of Yahoo, I recommend adding your “Unsubscribe” message to your Email Signature.

I like a Centered Signature like this:
Nothing Ventured – Nothing Gained
Free Money Making Site
If you no longer wish to receive communications from me,
Please Reply with ‘Unsubscribe’ in the Subject.

*Note: Emails sent from your Phone or Mobile device may have a different Email Signature. You will want to check on this. Most of mine were being used to promote T-Mobile. And they gripe about Network Marketing. What do you think that is?*

*-*-*-*-* Instructions to Setup your Email Signature *-*-*-*-*
Open your Email Account.
Click on the Gear Icon [Settings].
Select “Settings”.
Scroll down to the “Signature:” section.
Enter your Signature Closing including your Opportunity.
Select your Link Text and Click the Chain Icon [Link] tool to create the Link.

For ASN, I suggest setting the “Text to display:” to [Free Money Making Site] or [F.ree Money Making Site]. Some of the Email accounts send anything with Free in it to Spam. Then Select “Web Address” and set “To what URL should this link go” to the MoreMoney Link (Splash Page). To be careful, Click “Test this Link” to make sure you have the Link Correct. (Rule 1: Always Test Your Links.) When everything seems acceptable, Click [OK].

Unsubscribe Link:

If you don’t have an Unsubscribe Link set up, be sure to include the Following Text:
“If you no longer wish to receive communications from me,
Please Reply with ‘Unsubscribe’ in the Subject.”

Make sure that your new Signature is Selected and that the Tick Box is Marked to “Insert this signature before quoted text in replies…”
Scroll Down to the bottom of Settings and Click [Save Changes].

Login to your Hotmail Account.
Select the Gear Icon.
Select Options.
Under “Writing email” select “Formatting, font and signature”.
*Note: Default paragraph style is Left Justified. I set mine to Centered.*
Enter the Text of your Signature.
Select your Link Text.
See Gmail Instructions for Details:
Select the Chain Icon [Insert a hyperlink].
Enter your Link in the Box and Click [Okay].
Check your Link by Right Clicking on it. (Always Check Your Links.)

Unsubscribe Link:
If you don’t have an Unsubscribe Link set up, be sure to include the Following Text:
“If you no longer wish to receive communications from me,
Please Reply with ‘Unsubscribe’ in the Subject.”

When your Signature is setup, Click [Save].

Yahoo Presented Special Problems:
When I tried to add my Email Signature to my Yahoo Accounts, I ran into a major problem. My first attempt was using the signature that I had prepared for my other accounts. I received a message telling me that there was a problem and the signature had not been changed. Being a persistent fellow, I tried several different approaches. I was allowed to add my Website Link and my Tagline but anything that looked like an Unsubscribe statement or a link to my Primary Opportunity was denied.

There was also information indicating that Emails sent from anything but the Yahoo engines would be blocked. I suspect this means that many AutoResponders are no longer working.
Open your Yahoo Account.
Select the Gear Icon.
Select “Settings”.
Select “Writing email”.
Under Signature, select “Show a rich text signature”.
Enter your Signature text.
Select the Signature Text you just Entered.
Choose your preferred Paragraph Style.
Select your Link Text.
See Instructions for Gmail for Details:
Select the Chain Icon [Insert Link].
Enter the Link URL.
Click [OK] to set the Link.
Check your new Link by Right Clicking on it and opening in a new tab or window.
When your Link is set up, Click [Save].

*Note: Because it appears that you cannot include your “Unsubscribe Message” in the Yahoo Email Signature, be sure to include it as part of any message you send. *
*-*-*-*-* End – Email Signatures *-*-*-*-*

What’s Next:
Now that you have your Email Signatures set up, how do you get the word out? Do you already put out a family newsletter? Do you keep in touch with your buddies via email and routinely update them about work?

Consider Your Audience:

You need to consider your audience. In many cases, it may be best to say nothing and let the Email Signature do all the work for you. If you are with ASN, there are several suggestions for letters that you could use. I would treat these with caution.

SevenOaksArtTo Recap:
You want to be able to take advantage of every opportunity to get the word out about your Great Opportunity. Just like you never want to leave the house without your business cards, you should never send an email without including your link. Adding your business to your Email Signature is one of the simplest ways to accomplish this. Sometimes the low-key approach is best. A brief mention of your success in your family newsletter may be all that it takes to reach those who are interested.

It is a little like offering tips on horse races. Many people are not suited to Internet Marketing. When they don’t put in the effort necessary for success, there is a tendency to blame the system instead of their own efforts. Make your Great Opportunity available and those who are ready will seek you out. Nove-Noga!

This is the 31st in the Where do You Start?/GetStarted sequence.
