Resources on Nove-Noga.com. Home of Free Means FREE!The End of Windows XP:
For many days, I have been logging into Chrome only to see a daunting message informing me that my Windows XP will soon be unsupported. I know that supposedly Microsoft quit supporting Windows XP in 2014 but it still works so I am still using it. But, now that Chrome is pulling the plug, I guess that it really is the end of Windows XP.

Chrome to End Support April 2016:
Being the stubborn kind of person that I am, I have continued with my Windows XP. In fact, last Fall I doubled my RAM to 2MB. It was like having a whole new computer. Programs are running faster and smoother. My machine may be old but it still has life in it. Except for that notification when I fired up Chrome that Google is now planning to end support for Chrome in April of 2016.

Time for a little Research:
http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2015/11/chrome-to-end-support-for-windows-xp-vista-and-os-x-10-8-on-april-2016/

Windows XP is not Alone:
Windows XP is not the only one on the Google chopping block. Google Chrome is also cutting support for Windows Vista and Mac OS 10.8. It looks like I am not the only one looking for an alternative.

Google Search:
windows xp support end date
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/WindowsForBusiness/end-of-xp-support

According to the above post, Windows ended support for Windows XP as of April 8, 2014. I know that I have recently received Windows Updates. I guess I can only hope that they really have been provided by Microsoft. If I am reading this right, your only real option are to purchase an upgrade, if your computer is capable, or buy a new computer. Hmmm.

Finding a Solution to the Problem(s):
I guess that I can understand the need to concentrate on newer products but I disagree with Forcing people to spend money they don't have. So, the real question is, are there any alternatives to buying a new Windows package for my computer?

Recap:
The end of Windows XP is coming. The message has been written on the wall of Google Chrome. Those of us who are affected are going to have to make changes. Our choices are simple. We can choose to scrap perfectly good computers and buy new ones, we can purchase upgrades and continue the cycle or, we can take those perfectly good computers and find another alternative. I will tell you a secret. This Press Release was written and published from an Ubuntu Operating System.
